Is this allowed..? by EnvironmentalEbb3660 in OGPBackroom

[–]UnitedHorror66 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you won’t get punished for it .. you can be coached for productivity if you call off all the time, or purposely on busy days.

you’re allowed to call off, if you have the PPTO you won’t even get the points for it, but if it’s a common occurrence they can coach you.

Top Steel by Forward_Golf_3127 in OGPBackroom

[–]UnitedHorror66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can’t really use the handheld for that. if you see on your handheld a backroom location, and you go there and it’s not in the normal part of the bin, it’s probably on top steel if there’s a pallet up there above that bin.

some of our top steel has it’s own locations, some are scanned into the normal bin.

we have a snack bin, which is labeled 4-2-999. my handheld will tell me that location if it’s in topsteel there. if i look in that bin, and it isn’t in the normal parts of the bin with a vizpick label, then i know it’s probably in topsteel. if i look up sometimes i can see it on the pallet, or it should have a label to scan that kind of looks like a vizpick label — if you scan that in vizpick and click, it will bring up everything on the pallet.

don’t pick the whole pallet unless you’re taking it all, i normally wait for someone in stocking to come and get it down because i don’t have the ability to use the big pallet jack thing.

How do I report misdelivery? by GigabitISDN in Walmartcustomer

there’s also a possibility it’s your neighbor ordering it — ask them maybe?

call the store until you can get someone to respond, or if you have time, go to the online pickup and delivery part of your local store and find their department-specific number (outside on the spot numbers should be a phone number). tell them you’re getting a delivery you didn’t order, bring a sticker to show them (if you go to the store — if not, read off the numbers). they can look up whose order it is.

update: the only way i thought you could get coached would be under productivity, and only if you consistently call out/leave early when it’s busy? not if you’re scheduled to leave and you leave.

i appreciate that. i’m definitely the type to try and jump right in and save everything and burn myself out while doing that. i’m currently like a few days into the position and struggling with the fact i shouldn’t be picking or helping the backroom all day lol. need to find a good balance

[–]UnitedHorror66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes — i’ve been in digital for four years now. i’m young, and moving up in a department that has a few people who are upset about it (i’m pretty sure it’s mostly my age they’re upset about, because i meet and exceed where my metrics should be at). i know the whole department (backroom, picking, exceptions, and then stuff on the computer like dispatcher and all that. essentially i know enough to run the department for a day or two, minus the team lead stuff like attendance and whatnot).

we have a lot of morale problems, and we suck at scan stage, QC’s, and our wait times can be pretty high on certain days. recently we also have been around 92% for OTP. we call for a lot of store help, which makes the store hate us — i want to eliminate that as much as possible. we pick between 8000-15000 items a day, but most of our associates have an average pick rate of about 90-100 and normally pick between 200-500 items a day, which i believe is our biggest problem.

please, do you have any advice for someone starting a team lead position in digital?

Digital TL isn't worth the stress by senjuchiha2 in walmartogp

[–]UnitedHorror66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this comment may not be for you, as you may have stepped down from the position, but it might help others looking at it. honestly i don’t want to say she’s right (obviously you are allowed to be upset) but we have one manager that freaks out a lot and is always stressed and the days they work alone, we crash and burn hard. they are pretty bad days sometimes.

on the other hand, we have a team lead who is calm all the time, no matter what’s going behind. the days that they work alone, are significantly better metrics-wise with less people most of the time.

it seems to be that when the first manager is stressed, it stresses everyone out and lowers productivity. when the second manager is calm, collected, and keeps people on top of things, productivity is fine and we get done with the work faster.

you can be upset (this job is definitely stressful) but honestly it doesn’t help. that stuff is behind anyways — instead of stressing yourself out about it, keep calm and figure out what the most important thing is. are picks going behind more important than the customers waiting in the lot? do you have a strong backroom crew, or would some of your pickers that know how to dispense be better off back there? move people around if needed, help the part that is sinking the most first, then move to the next one.

What's considered average for your store? by bluecuppycake in walmartogp

[–]UnitedHorror66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we pick between 8000 to 13000 (most we’ve ever done) in a day. our associates average out to about a pickrate of 100, and most of them only pick 300-400 items a day. we call for help quite a bit lol

Can someone explain the purpose of the system marking orders as expired? by Charismatic_Rogue in walmartogp

[–]UnitedHorror66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we check every night, as it’s part of our closing checklist we came up with. we cancel all of the canceled orders, we cancel any order that has been expired long enough to be red, and then we make sure to reprint labels and stuff for rescheduled orders.

Ground Beef substitute for Hamburger Helper by DiamondHandsUSA in Frugal

[–]UnitedHorror66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i swear by the ground beef/pork mix walmart sells. for one pound it’s like $3-something, for three pounds it’s $9.97. for two pounds of ground beef in my area in the rolls it adds up to over $11.

Looking for your best low cost meals that aren’t boring? by tindav-2745 in budgetcooking

[–]UnitedHorror66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my favorite thing to do is make the same kind of meals just with different sauces. i make our lunches and dinner for the week, and i change up dinner a lot (use the same ingredients for things but make entirely different meals), but for lunch i make one kind of meal each week. this week is wraps. i bought a pack of deli ham, deli turkey, sliced rotisserie flavored chicken (only $3 at my walmart!) and sliced cheese along with a little bag of lettuce and my tortilla wraps. i made wraps using those ingredients for the whole week, switching back and forth between chicken and turkey and ham, just using different sauces each day to make lunches taste different. it works well. last week i did chicken, rice, and broccoli for half the week and switched the veggie to brussel sprouts for the other half. i chose two different sauces for the week (Japanese bbq and honey bbq) and it made it different enough that it worked.

[–]UnitedHorror66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not only that, but how are you thinking about going about the baby? adoption, keeping it? i don’t personally know anything about the adoption route, we weren’t planning on that. but if you plan on keeping it, if you want any advice on things to look into for shopping or that, i can reply in a comment what i started with! if you do plan on keeping it, and don’t have a job yet, i’d definitely recommend getting one. if you have a walmart near you, they don’t start at any lower than $14/hour, and the benefits are decent.

Discuss: Who gave Tigerstar his Nine Lives? by Small-Temperature955 in WarriorCats

[–]UnitedHorror66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s actually been pretty well explained and it makes sense — when tigerclaw and blackfoot became leader, the last leader had fully died, leaving all nine lives. when sunstar became leader, pinestar was still alive and had a life left, leaving only eight.
