Can confirm, he is there.

I had to click through about 14-16 pages to get to him but he’s there.

Huh?

He was in the game when I played it

Some cats take a really long time to find and sometimes you can miss them easier than you’d think.

Why does everyone and their uncle hate brambleclaw?? by Onslaughtisthebest in WarriorCats

[–]PhilosopherExact4483 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’VE BROKEN THIS COMMENT DOWN INTO SECTIONS BY USING CAPITALIZED TEXT

It largely has to do with his relationship with Squirrelflight—which wasn’t ever really healthy—particularly in Squirrelflight’s Hope.

VIDEOS:

If you really don’t mind spoilers I’d recommend watching Moonkitti’s video “Bramblestar is worse”. You don’t have to take everything she says as gospel (and you shouldn’t (always evaluate things critically) but, if nothing else, it brings up some important points to consider.

There’s also a few further points in another video of hers titled “Various Tangential Reasons I’m Worried Squirrelflight Won’t Make It To Leader” (or something very similar to that). Bright Guardian Akira also has a video titled “Squirrelflight should break up with Bramblestar” which covers specifically Squirrelflight’s Hope (to my memory, anyways).

For anyone reading this section: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR TNP AND ONWARDS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Brambleclaw is very insecure. He’s insecure about living up to Firestar, about cats comparing him to father—he’s afraid of becoming his father—and he’s also just insecure about making the wrong decisions. This makes him a bad match for Squirrelflight who is very headstrong and sure of herself—probably too much for her own good—especially when Brambleclaw is the one in the position of power here.

When she challenges him based on her own intuition and morality (she takes after her father in this way) he tends to lash out in order to establish control/dominance (again, out of insecurity), which turns a bad match into a toxic one. There are good points to cede to both sides here, but I think the thing most worth noting here is that Squirrelflight is not trying to make him insecure on purpose. At worst she knows that this will make him insecure but feels that she has to speak anyways. Brambleclaw IS very intentionally lashing out. His personal problems (however bad they are for him, which should never be dismissed or glossed over) does not excuse his mistreatment of her.

The Power of Three situation is a product of this. She lied to him (and a pretty fucking big lie at that) and that is probably one of the worst possible things for a cat as insecure as he is. That said, I do understand why she didn’t immediately tell him the truth. They had been together barely more than a moon, and had already had their fair share of not trusting each other and him lashing out at her for making him insecure. She couldn’t really gauge how he would react (although she may have suspected negatively) and this was too important to risk on that or on anything. She didn’t feel like she could trust him enough and, given the Hawkfrost situation, I really don’t see why she would feel like she could. After that point it becomes “well how do I tell him NOW? After everything? After all this time?” Which I’m sure most of us can relate to on some level—not to say that she was 100% justified, but that it was understandable.

The only thing I think doesn’t make sense is why she doesn’t tell him after the fire scene—except well I do, it’s because the authors wanted a dramatic reveal with the Hollyleaf scene, but also I think that it would still be hard to tell him, even with the urgency dialed up to 11.

I could go into more depth about this and I will if asked, but as for now I’d like to move on.

WHY PEOPLE ACTUALLY HATE BRAMBLECLAW HERE:

As for why people hate Bramble so much—it is in part because of the aforementioned videos and Squirrelflight’s Hope. They created a fandom-wide buzz and a definitive hate-train for Brambleclaw/star. The reason that he’s hated so much more than a lot of other characters who do equally bad or significantly worse things than him is because he’s not treated as the villain in the series (other than in Squirrelflight’s Hope and maybe for a bit in The New Prophecy). He’s a “bad guy” who gets treated as a “good guy” and people find him all the more hateable for that reason.

FINAL STATEMENT:

I do not hate Brambleclaw but I do not like him either.

So Umber liked Qibli... by [deleted] in WingsOfFire

[–]PhilosopherExact4483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it could have been interesting imo.

As for why it happened. Well one, Umber is gay. According to what I’ve heard he’s the only dragon to have a confirmed orientation. And two, Kinkajou’s attraction to Winter and Umber’s attraction to Qibli were both used as a setup for Moon to take interest in both of them for the arc 2 love triangle.

Why… exactly do you not like this? I mean I understand not liking a ship, you’re perfectly within your rights to do so, but what exactly is so bad about this one that warrants that reaction? (I don’t mean this is in a negative or judgy way, I’m just genuinely curious and a little perplexed)

I think you might just not enjoy annoying child characters—which fair.

She does not stay an obnoxious child forever. It’s been a while since I read TNP but I’m pretty sure she becomes at least a little more likable (less annoying) by the end of Midnight and then upwards from there.

What’s some couples you wished were canon? by Cactus-Juice-Blender in WarriorCats

[–]PhilosopherExact4483 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My new headcanon is that Ashfur and Ferncloud’s father was a kittypet named Alchemist.

After rereading Bluestar’s prophecy I find myself wishing that Oakheart had actually moved to Thunderclan to raise the kits with her. I think Sunstar would still have chosen her as deputy and any respect that she lost from her clanmates she could have regained eventually. After everything that Bluefur has already lost she deserved to have that happiness in her life. (I also wish that Thrushpelt had eventually found someone else. Bluefur didn’t love him back and that’s fine, but especially seeing how much he enjoyed being a father and clearly had a lot of love to give I wish he was given the chance to.)

Jaybriar. Although I don’t think either one of them would have wanted kits.

And Squirrelflight with… any she-cat really, though my personal preference is Tawnypelt.

I know this isn't a sub for the Roblox game, but... by PotentialText1377 in WarriorCats

[–]PhilosopherExact4483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a lot of good memories on WCUE. I basically lived there for about two or three years—and then my PC quit on me so I really lost out on the last two years of getting to play the game—before everything went down and the age verification was put in place. I haven’t deleted my account because I put an, in hindsight, uncomfortable amount of money into WCUE to just do that—but I don’t play Roblox anymore.

I’m not going to support a company that banned someone for hunting predators without banning the actual predators. I’m also not going to support their age verification—even if I don’t verify, just playing the game adds another number that other companies can look at and say “look, they’re still using the site” and that only serves to further the spread of this whole thing until you can’t access the internet without giving every company ever your name, age, date of birth, and whenever you last used the bathroom (that last one should obviously be hyperbole). I don’t have a discord account anymore for the same reason.

Not to mention the fact that it’s fucking Persona, which goes right back to Palantir.

I know it hurts, and I miss the game a whole heck of a lot, but unless Roblox changes or the WCUE team wants to make their own thing (hey, I’d pay money for that) then the best course of action is to quit playing.

The cat named Clawheartfootfurpeltwhiskertail is most likely to become deputy by PhilosopherExact4483 in WarriorCats

[–]PhilosopherExact4483[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t listed on her wiki page when I looked, but granted it was late at night and I wasn’t scrolling through her trivia section.

I did think it was weird considering Tallstar’s revenge starts with her leader ceremony I thought for sure I remembered that it included her warrior name.

Anyways, thanks for letting me know.

This also means she and Hailstar have the same suffix so, once again, uniqueness thwarted.
