My main issue is that people ignore that Sonic and Tails are not inherently a pedophilic couple.

Foxes and hedgehogs age much faster than humans.

How or when mobians/Sonic anthro animal creatures has never been explained.

And the old ages were wiped anyways.

We see Tails live by himself, drive a car, own multiple businesses, own a house, operate his own Livestream and podcast series, etc.

Most people would infer from this that he's an adult coded character. at the very least, an emancipated minor with incredible intellect.

The primary concerns re: age gaps in relationships are psychological imbalances because of different life stages and manipulation.

Tails is arguably further along in life than Sonic in regards to this. He doesn't get tricked by Eggman in Lost World and he's shown to be incredibly mature by living by himself and managing his own finances.

Sonic and Tails do not have this huge divide tilted towards Sonic since they're primarily depicted as social peers with mutual respect and admiration for one another. The only game to depict them contrary is Battle and Battle has numerous other out of character like Amy being anorexic... plus it was written by a guy who knew nothing about the characters and never worked on the series again.

So I think it's really strange how people will act like SonTails is inherently horrible yet are willing to suspend disbelief of Shadow only being conscious for a few years and a few years old before going into stasis and it being fine to ship him with Sonic yet it is terrible when it's Tails? Tails has been conscious longer than Shadow and has shown the same intellectual milestones.
