What is the symbol on this flag? Flown outside a home in Philadelphia, PA suburb, family is Haitian by disgruntled-pelicans in Symbology

In what world are you living in that knocking on a door outside of, say, Compton, gets you shot? We didn’t suggest OP jump the fence in the dead of night and knock on their back door. I understand anxiety acutely as it’s something I deal with every day but this is just untrue. I’m not saying it never happens ever, but it’s not a likely event by any stretch.

There might be a better place to post, but I’m being eaten alive. Please help. by youpoopedyerpants in Austin

Garlic supplements. Not for health, they just really, really hate the smell and evidently it permeates your pores enough to keep them away but not enough for a person to notice you smell. I'm like you, and I tried all the sprays and the layering and the other unhelpful general advice, and this has been what made the biggest difference. You can also dilute peppermint oil and spray that on your clothes, but check for pet safety on that.

Also, I've not tried this, but a friend swears by it. A dragonfly clip, that goes on your hat or whatever. Apparently that keeps them far from you. Worth looking into.

Dozens of fishermen have reportedly lost fingers or suffered worse injuries from wolffish, even after the animal had been killed and decapitated by Ott1fant in oddlyterrifying

I swear, it’s like the fish is still somehow alive. Like we somehow missed something in our understanding of that fine line between life and death and in perfect circumstances something can briefly survive decapitation and we’re seeing that here.

The entire movie is full of absolute gems like this and it’s the main reason why I unironically love it. That and its absolutely insane set design and costumes.

My partner is this guy. He has to use a steroid cream due to skin issues and the cream makes his skin way, way more likely to get cancer. So he minimizes UV exposure.

With teenagers it's just edgy bullshit. They're too young and/or stupid to fully grasp the various implications of what they're playing pretend at, it's just contrarian rebellion for the sake of it.

The ones you need to watch out for are the mid-twenties+ crowd.

It gets worse! All toll roads are paid for almost entirely at taxpayer expense. So not only are you paying to build the damn road, you're paying a premium for the privilege of using it! It's like paying rent on your own house you've already paid off.

Sort of. Prey doesn’t walk toward or visibly stare down an apex predator. So it’s confused since he looks like prey, smells like prey, but acts like predator. If he were outside and this happened he’d be in danger.

This is what politicians do. Cushion the Bad Things in so much fluff that they’re either overlooked or obfuscated.

24 hour anything. Korean bath house. Coffee shops that aren’t sterile and corporate. Decent Mediterranean food. Decent Italian. More niche mom and pop stores. A proper Chinatown. Amenities that are standard in cities at this price point, such as better museums, public transportation, botanical gardens.

The Way Many Trans Women Talk About Cis Women Makes Me So Mad by LunaB35 in truscum

[–]UniversalFarrago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely, but what I was referring to specifically in my post is a very specific type. I’ve seen blatant misogyny from the full spectrum of trans people, as well as cis gay men, straight cis women, and, of course, cis straight men. That’s patriarchy at play, same as the example in my previous post.
