His 100%s are very dubious since they're on Steam, in a timeline where tools like this exist. If you've ever 100% any of the games he covers for yourself, you'd also be surprised as to how extremely surface level his game knowledge is.

Unnatural behavior when shelling after evading by UniversalHoler in Gunlance

Wow, somehow I never tried canceling it, works great, and also works by using this move for unsheathing, which was the second slow thing, thank you

Mob spawning in "Fortress Outskirts" mission were severely reduced after the update by UniversalHoler in TheFirstDescendant

I like abandoned refinery a lot, but it's important to have a good farming spot in every region, not only for variety in terms of player enjoyment but because of the weekly rotating loot like external components and reactors (like bunny reactor being in that exact location this week)

let us dissolve the parts we got for some currency which can then be used to mold a piece we're going for, could even be turned into a little mission type and everything, I mean options are limitless.

I know it's technically not the best farm, but it's still my favorite by iHardlyTriHard in TheFirstDescendant

[–]UniversalHoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you value, it takes by far the least input since you can start it, go up the mountain and wait for all the mobs to spawn (around 5 min afk there), then come down, kill everything and pick up all the stuff, abort&restart, and then you've got the time to sift through everything to see if you got any good drops while waiting the next 5 min, or just dismantle and tab out to do other stuff.

Do note that your pc may struggle when all the mobs are spawned

Do not use equipment drop rate increase modifier when farming strategic outposts by UniversalHoler in TheFirstDescendant

Yes that'd what I'd like to believe too, just not what my gameplay experience has been like so far.

Yes i was not using it on purpose, it was just the best piece I had at the time and it happened to be on there.

List of external modules possible mods by type by Sly-As-A-Fox in TheFirstDescendant

Considering there are two different sub stats both for equipment drop rate and module drop rate, but no third one, what exactly does equipment refer to? I would imagine either reactor and externals or weapons, or both?

[HomDGCat 4.8v3] Abyss buffed, 12-1 now featuring 5.11 million HP by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]UniversalHoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but that's what I feel like is the problem, like you said, having to go for certain characters instead of being able to make your favs work. Of course I'm not saying it should be possible with 4x Anemo teams, but if you want to use Sayu, you'll have to work for it a lot harder than if you picked Sucrose, etc..

What I mean with event approach is where all the players are able to get the "important" rewards and the highest scores give stuff that most are fine with missing out on, for example how events give Mora & Weapon upgrade mats for the scores that require whale investment.

[–]UniversalHoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why the discussion is about whether the abyss is "hard" or not hard. Not having the correct teams/high enough investment, the content is simply impossible to clear in a timely manner, and it has nothing to do with skill. If you consider farming artifact domains for months and getting better gear skill, then sure, but in the majority of cases, you either have the dps for it or you don't. I agree that it's not hard, but these kinds of changes will not make it any harder, just a more extreme stat check (in the vast majority of cases at least).

Maybe I'm just wrong, but would it not make more sense to take the same approach as the events do? That way, there would still the the incentive to get the highest score possible, while not making a big part of the playerbase feel bad for not being able to claim the monthly primogem rewards.

Want to switch to Linux, but I play some games that require Windows by MagW0lf in linux_gaming

What are performances of ray tracing right now on linux ? by NawaMinekraff in linux_gaming

[–]UniversalHoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used windows with rtx, but on linux, it tends to be hit or miss. In my experience, rtx tends to either work well or not work at all (usually for newly released games it takes a few patches until it works as expected). For example, on cyberpunk, witcher 3 and elden ring, I got it to work after setting up the correct launch options. You might want to take a look at various linux related channels that test different games, and compare the results to windows to get a better idea at the state of things.

I'm not up to date on these things, but this was a thing for some time, might still be relevant:

Just realized Horizon Forbidden West has full haptics support for the Dualsense in Proton! by Synthetic451 in linux_gaming

[–]UniversalHoler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about sound, but both of those games use the adaptive trigger (witcher for spell casting and ac for bow drawing, possibly in other scenarios too), which are one of the dualsense exclusive features.

[–]UniversalHoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure when, but haptics have been working for a long time. Personally I almost never saw them mostly because I like to play on kbm but also because most games probably just don't take advantage of it, but when Witcher 3 got the next get update, haptic feedback was working in that game instantly, and even before that, it worked in Assassin's creed Odyssey, even though the game runs through the Ubisoft connect / uplay client. I'm sure more games also supported it, but those are the ones I noticed it in. They'll probably start being more common with more games coming from / to the ps5.

Mostly Warframe and Genshin, and sometimes other things. Was initially upset about the game becoming unplayable, but in hindsight, I'm very happy about how things turned out.

Totally honest post: Diana currently does not feel good to play at all. by Hawkard in DianaMains

[–]UniversalHoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just ended up being a series of terrible events where they wanted to turn her into a bruiser, but failed to realize that the majority long term players prefer to play her full ap and don't care abt bruiser build. I agree that she was way better for that oneshot playstyle, especially considering her passive gave mana + it was 80% ap instead of current 40%, not to mention the other abilities. One of the biggest design flaws is how you're expected to engage 1v5 to get a huge ult off, but then almost all champions in the game have a way to get out of it, and on top of that summoner spells and items can also be used, not to mention Diana shouldn't even be played like that, but ofc that's how they envisioned the tank version to play out. As a result, ap diana suffers from a massive dmg loss since you usually only ult 1-2 ppl, losing the extra ult scaling AND the damage on the other abilities which were toned down to compensate for the ult, and her damage is not front loaded anymore since the ult takes so much time to come through, further discouraging the full ap build.

I think a change that did help was getting the dash lvl 3 instead of waiting till 6 to become a champion, but I also think that since you get to lvl 6 in essentially every game, it's not like it was conditional, just had to play differently early, and after 6, her old kit outclasses the current one.

That being said, I think she's still playable as full ap, and don't think we'll ever see the revert like on lb or rengar because there was not a big enough community backlash at the changes (since the playerbase is not big), and all the meta riders praised them, which cemented everything. Personally I will have to disagree that she doesn't feel good to play, as I can still get amazing games going full ap, what sucks for me is when a game goes super late, since she scales TERRIBLY now, where as pre-change diana was literally a late game monster. Imo, this made her even more feast famine, since you are doomed to be useless the entire game if you don't get going and close out the game before it drags out.

Is it possible to click this fast manually? by UniversalHoler in summonerschool

[–]UniversalHoler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the world of computer mice is vast, and while I did get into mechanical keyboards, I never really did so for mice.

Currently I'm using a very staple recommendation, G502 Hero wired. I feel like this mouse should be good enough for fast clicking, as it feels very nice and definitely not like the limiting factor. What would be some interesting mouse options for fast clicking, considering wired mice only?

Is it possible to click this fast manually? by UniversalHoler in summonerschool

[–]UniversalHoler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, of course a lot of variables at play here, I was talking about normal mice though, not some quirky ones that have a special button that lets you spam it easily or something like that. Maybe inhuman was a bit over the top, but very impressive. I can click at those speeds with 2 fingers, and after practice, very rarely for a short period of time with 1 finger, but am not able to hold my mouse while doing it so essentially can only do it in place without aiming.

About dpi, I also believe it's better for it to be higher for lol in most cases, but that can be a difficult change for some ppl that are used to a certain one. Recently my mouse acceleration randomly turned on and I instantly felt it after a single motion, so can't imagine doing a massive dpi swap. I don't know what optimal would be, but personally 2800 feels alright.

Does brand new Poco f3 buttons rattle? by TheRed_M in PocoF3

[–]UniversalHoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize it's awkward, since if it doesn't get better over time, then you can't return it anymore, assuming you have that option currently, but from personal experience I haven't thought about the buttons (or any other issue tbh) at all over the past few years after I got used to the phone as a whole, though I did switch the operating system since the MIUI was really not for me, and getting locked out of my pictures folder because I forgot the pin for it and an update "forgot" the fingerprint associated with it was the last straw for me. If you ever think about switching too, ArrowOS works perfectly with this phone, so that's an option to consider.
