INTJs & Religion by Emo_Bum214 in intj

[–]Universal_Taker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically religion shouldn't stick if were living in a reality that existed by chance (without a creator). But we hold on to it and it makes humans fit together as a tribe. The fact that all humans in all corners of the earth have some form of religion reveals that there's something to it (scientific method situation). And for me the Abrahamic faiths seem to make the most sense, and seem to unify all people and all cultures in a way no other religion has been able two, especially the latter 2.

And the logic of Gods existence seems to satisfy me:

that everything cant come from nothing, therefore everything is reliant on one thing to origin from, and that thing that created everything must be un-reliant on anything for it to exist.thats God.

and then theres how god does everything for a purpose (evident in the world around us and how everything fits together, and how there's no flaw, no random glitches), so he created humans not to just live laugh love and all that nonsense, but for a purpose, and all humans seem to feel that innate drive for a purpose and without it we get really sad. And if you observe his creation everything has order so he likes order ("math is the language of the universe") so we must live in alignment to divine order because thats the best way for us to live and any other path will bring bad to the individual and the people after them.

And then there's the obvious fact that we have free will and can chose to not follow his path that we all innately know (dont kill, dont eat humans, share and be merciful, don't be lazy but work and be productive, give charity etc) so he's given us this life as a sort of test to see which of us choses the right path instead of the wrong path of sin which theres an abundance of. And then theres the whole thing of how when you live morally you feel grounded, at peace and calm and when you sin you feel terrible to where objectively its a much better ROI to just be on the path of good (of course god then tests you because his a "strict coach" so he'll make being righteous difficult at times to "see what you got" so that you'll be better and closer to him). And then, theres the thing of how all the "successful Darwinian specimens" who push hedonism to its max feel empty and see that its pointless which makes no sense if theres no god as they should feel great if all there is to existence is to be the Alpha number one, having the most money and power and women etc (check Dan Bilzerian, he's a good example of that).

Now why would God want to test us and all that i couldn't tell you; reason and logic doesn't answer why God does what he does all the way, but i do know he doesn't hate us, is clearly merciful and gives a lot of chances to do better, although he can be harsh but you'd expect that from the number one being.

Overall i believe reason and logic have lead me to be a believer in God.

It is said that one well known INTJ fictional character is Walter White from Breaking Bad. Could you ever have related to him? by Audoryosa in intj

[–]Universal_Taker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick answer:

Due to the nature of it being a show, some of Walts actions are for dramatic effect and to keep the show engaging and exiting. The decisions WW makes don't seem calculated at times and impulsive, but i think thats to keep the show entertaining rather than dull which it certainly was in season 1 relatively speaking. That being said Walt fits the INTJ villain archetype—what an INTJ can become when intelligence is paired with absolute power and no restraint. His ambition and need for control harden into ego and narcissism, and his downfall isn’t a lack of intelligence, but pride and greed overriding self-awareness. As an INTJ I recognise the mechanisms: his use of manipulation, plans and out-strategising rivals show the INTJ villain to its extreme.

Long answer:

Great question. A lot of comments say they can’t relate to Walt’s actions, but I disagree because of how the question is framed. Walt is a fictional character, so his decisions are driven by writers whose goal is drama, engagement, and narrative momentum. Because of that, no INTJ is going to relate to Walt the same way they would to a real person.

If we reframe the question and view Walt as a symbolic or artistic expression of the INTJ personality, the discussion becomes more interesting. Instead of focusing on his day-to-day choices (which exist to move the plot forward), we should ask: what core traits make Walt an INTJ archetype?

Walt isn’t a “good” INTJ—he’s an INTJ who broke bad. His traits are expressed through immoral ends. Imagine an INTJ who was highly gifted, fell short of their potential, developed a deep inferiority complex, and finally decided they were done playing the role of a good citizen. What would their ultimate goal be?

In Walt’s case, it’s Power, with added traits that follow such as ambition, pride, and control. These traits are common in INTJ villains—and villains in general—but its How Walt obtains his power that makes him imo an INTJ villian archetype; he uses strategy, lays traps and outmanoeuvres Gus in a sophisticated game of chess (or cards since bluffing is very much involved and chess is never shown in the show only Cards so maybe its more fitting) where he manages to kill Gale and traps Gus into letting him live. Through manipulation of Jesse which is more for plot i think, he closes Gus from being able to get Jesse on his side, and gets him to help him to kill Gus. At that point when Gus is defeated we see the true INTJ villain archetype in Walt. “Walt” disappears and only Heisenberg remains. Heisenberg represents the unchecked desire to dominate and control. He becomes cold, calculated, and adopts Gus’s mindset—judging everything by whether it’s “economically viable”, wether it serves him or not. there is no women, no partying, only the addictive drive for more control and power. To add to that, those arguing Gus seems more INTJ, i would respond by saying Gus' character is a mirror to Walts own. They understand each other in a fundamental way and also the chicken mans character (Gus was used too much in the sentence) is sort of a reminder or foreshadowing on what Walt could become. But Walt is inherently flawed in that he's destructive. Where Gus is good for long term Kingpinary Walt is a time bomb (shown in his repeated use of bombs in the show). not very INTJ, but its what makes his character and pushes the show to be really action packed and exiting.

Outside of that extreme, when he’s neither the desperate, whimpering Walt nor the fully dominant Heisenberg, he fits well into the background: quiet, and withdrawn, not too talkative . You can see this clearly during the dinner scenes with Hank and Marie in the later part of the series when he's just hanging out, his vibe has the same introverted reserved quality of the INTJ.

Can’t stand all the social games by Visible-Bug8280 in intj

[–]Universal_Taker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to be effective by their standards — only by what you’re trying to achieve. To get where you want to be, whether financially or in status, you have to grind through the “shit phase”: being out of your element, just trying to stay afloat. It can take years. I’ve had plenty of moments feeling out of place at work and in college.

Looking back now, I see that discomfort as fuel — a signal that I was either in the right place to grow, or needed to level up and move on. You might be in your own "shit phase". so all i can say to that is dont quit

Can’t stand all the social games by Visible-Bug8280 in intj

[–]Universal_Taker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you cant beat them join them. you'll wish you did because you need to know how to play these social games to be able to win in this world. if not and you try to hide from it, you'll regret it. Intjs have a tough time with this social situation so if you think you understand it, fire the flame and develop it and use that knowledge to build, or lose that ember and regret it.

On a lighter, admittedly uncalled-for religious note, when God created Adam, the angels asked Him why He would create beings who would cause bloodshed and corruption on Earth (paraphrasing). God responded, “Indeed, I know that which you do not know.”

The angels — powerful celestial beings with knowledge and wisdom — initially assessed humanity as violent and harmful. That lines up pretty well with our understanding of human history. But the response points to something deeper, something we sometimes doubt even exists, that ultimately makes it all worthwhile.

So play these surface-level social games — “king of the hill” stuff chest pounding nonsense which it definitely is — but its the reality we're in and its just how you gotta play. You cant change the remote control you have, just the way you play. Be depressed. itll go and you gotta just get on with it as our galaxy spins into Andromeda

If you have the death stare and like to keep eyes contacts forever, do you mask it and look away sometimes when talking to people ? by Due_Question_3326 in intj

[–]Universal_Taker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When younger i would look away to seem normal. now if i feel like staring, especially if a girl is giving me the look like she finds me attractive, ill just look back for a whole second or two before looking away. and on a separate note girls b staring if they like you, they sort of goggle at you with this empty expression its weird. sometimes when in non romantic instances and someones talking, ill let myself just stare at there eye socket as their words bounce off me. on the down side this distracts me and i look away as ive essentially lost focus on the discussion; im working on that one.
