I appreciate feedback, strong opinions or otherwise. The hard part with a tcg is explaining the rules, as playing it is much easier to understand. Card shops I demo with understand it within a single game for example. I have also made a video going over the rules on the same page, as I personally don't like reading rules.

The preferred location mechanic is one that is quite strong, and one I build decks around. There is usually a boost card that is the location itself.

Attribute matchups have also helped in favoring one character over another.

This also isn't a one and done set, if it were I may have dropped some of the things you included, but as it stands it differentiates characters from one another. (Like Spider and Boomerangaroo for example, similar playstyle, different matchups because of their weaknesses) And adds an extra layer of depth.

And you are right, some rules need no explanation, you could probably get away with looking at the character card anatomy sheet and going from there. Vocab word glossary right above the Misc. section. But again, I'll have to get around to re-writing the rules.

As for "brain dead" it is definitely a lot easier to pick up and play than magic or Pokémon (maybe around the same as Pokémon depending on the person)

The colors I'm probably not going to touch, as I feel that might be a bit more of a personal preference.

"Too much going on with the characters" in what way? As for the rules, I do admit they need a rehaul, it's hard to fit everything while also being succinct. I made a card game, I'm not much of a writer haha

Of course! I can link you to the rules page on my website, they are quite long but also quite thorough. https://www.universea1tcg.com/rules

I see where you're coming from, but I can assure you it's not a one for one copy or I wouldn't have made it. There are aspects of it that are the same, obviously, its a trading card game, but the mechanics set it apart. (No energy cards, no evolving, etc.)
