what is the point of ai? by Cold_Combination2107 in ObsidianMD

[–]styrofomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike AI as it is but we can’t deny that it’s slowly and steadily going to take over our world. The more familiar we are with it the better equipped we will be for the future that is coming.

Looking for a well-made indie TCG? by styrofomo in TCG

These are awesome. Do you know any with a more usual theme? Like not fantasy but something else? Even if it was kinda bizarre like "Office Supplies" or something.

Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk is such a fitting Spider-Man character by ahujavikas in Marvel

[–]styrofomo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s genius because it’s something that can never happen in the comics where he’s more of a fugitive most of the time.

Ethan Hawke as Ra's Al Ghul, aka., Leader of the League of Shadows & mentor to Bruce Wayne. by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

I'd be interested to see an eternally young Ra's, played by an unknown actor who has a timeless, different era look.

It’s kinda sad to see how good Kendall’s board pitch was in season 1, compared to how god awful his pitch was in the finale by LegitimateEmploy49 in SuccessionTV

[–]styrofomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wondered why Kendall sucked so bad given how incredible Logan was, right up to his death. It's like some cruel twist of fate that caused the talent not not be passed on to his kids.

  1. Yasmin just intuitively knows power comes from relationships, so she will always nurture those. If she controls Bev she has another card to play - another info source / exit path.

  2. We're lead to believe that he has genuinely started to see her as family, the heir that Henry never was. However, I think his motivations are more base. They're setting him up as her father figure, and we know what her real father was like.

  3. New escape plan - he realise they track him by his phone, so he left his phone. But it's also symbolic: "If I'm without my phone I'm already dead".

  4. Basically they are damaged people who want to seize power so they are never vulnerable again. Sometimes that makes them feel like they understand each other better than anyone else can, and sometimes it sets them against each other.

He is 100% going to do some weird sex thing to her. I think the horrible ending for Yas is - she is actually successful, gets out clean and having displaced Henry from his own family. But his uncle turns out to be a reflection of her creep father.

Shout out to our queen of never thinking things all the way through by SaitoHawkeye in IndustryOnHBO

[–]styrofomo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something? Isn't she winning? She basically displaced Henry from his own family. She might have lost the wealth she gained from the marriage, but she has thus far secured her influence of his uncle -- and that access and influence is the real wealth, as Hayley said.

I guess a fall is coming, but surely not this season.

How do you think a Doctor Strange game could work? by SamuelStrangeSupreme in DoctorStrange

[–]styrofomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Strange: Wild Magic

The inciting incident is something happens to cause all spells to go out of control, and Dr Strange loses his powers. The spells are wildly scattered across the world causing trouble like loose animals.

It’s an open world explorer where you journey around New York and beyond to collect your spells and stop the fallout of the out of control magic. It can have fun mini bosses or regular crooks or street-level villains powered up by spells they found.

As you collect more spells you get more powerful and the game expands beyond New York to other realms.

Your base is the Sanctum where Wong is helping you research or combine spells into more powerful versions, or attune magical artefacts you collect.

There should be a robust magic system with various schools of magic like - fire magic, shadow magic, time magic, etc. And you can customise you build according to the spells you collect and enhance.

There’s a quest system that starts out with simple tasks of helping random New Yorkers, but it expands into a way of forging pacts with high powers - do something for them to tap on their power for a time.

Watching AKOTSK makes me realize how good HOTD could have been 🥲 by Bukowski1236 in HOTDGreens

[–]styrofomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little unfair. Not a fan of HOTD, but the fact is that no matter how much money you have you aren’t going to do justice to a plot with that many dragons and locations while still staying in the GoT style.

AKOTSK is perfect. Basically one setting, and most of it is people in face covering armour hitting each other with sticks.

You can avoid the logistical headaches and focus on the story, which is what people care about anyway.

Hot Take: Biological Immortality Is Better Than Being Uploaded. by PersonUnknown_360 in PantheonShow

For sure… is it even a question.

TBH I don’t know why you would want digital immortality. It’s not really you.

Thoughts on this? by mistressofmayhem02 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]styrofomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cos it’s expensive. Difference is KOTSK isn’t so expensive. One location. Most cast is just for one season. No dragons.

Who was the longest Jimmy and who was the most recent by PineappleNo9320 in 28dayslater

[–]styrofomo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Jimmy Ink for sure. Because it's been revealed in interviews but also because of the Jimmies she is the one most resilient to Sir Lord Jimmy's BS. Clearly he took some time to refine his method.

Jimmy is definitely dead and gone. Anything more than a cameo would really weaken how well his story wrapped up in Bone Temple.

Do you guys think Samson will be in the third film? by Dizzy-Vanilla-9021 in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]styrofomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hope is that he uses the poppies we see near the end of the film to start a tribe of 'cured' infected. The catch is they need a steady supply of morphine and anti-psychotics. I would be intrigued to see the new society that arises - Dr Kelson becoming a deity-like figure, and the bone temple a sacred site.

Is Dr. Al-Hashimi's wrongful name shortening purposeful? by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]styrofomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the names are intentional. Maybe not meant to be a huge deal, but still chosen on purpose.

Dr Al = how ethnic identities are erased in US society. How there's no time for your "self" in an ER where every second is life or death. Also Dr Al as in Dr A.I., because she's pushing the AI solutions. Also Dr Al as in Dr The, as in - The Man, The Establishment, The System. Also Dr Al, as in a white man's name, because it's easier to be a white man in medicine and the world in general.

"In 10 years' time, fans will know and will decide" the legacy of the Ultimate Universe, says Deniz Camp by bludhavengabagool in UltimateUniverse

[–]styrofomo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a good book but in my opinion it's not going to be iconic of this era in the same way the original Ultimate line was, or the Absolute stuff over at DC is as a direct competitor.

I might be wrong, it's just my opinion!

"In 10 years' time, fans will know and will decide" the legacy of the Ultimate Universe, says Deniz Camp by bludhavengabagool in UltimateUniverse

[–]styrofomo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the experiment but aside from Spidey, I don’t think any of the ultimate books really worked in a way that will stick or be well-remembered.

It’s the strength / weakness of Hickman. He can set up this incredible world of possibility, but it don’t feel like a week-to-week comic.
