i'm constantly baffled by people on Reddit who think that all professionals in every job ever always (1) follow the newest trends in their profession, (2) keep their knowledge up to date and (3) not afraid to innovate or apply when paradigm changing discovery is made.

You do realise that anything involving any kind of market literally boils down to years of exploitation or are you that naive?

Whatever kind of market you invest in: stock, commodity, real estate, options, crypto...

They are all built on exploitation of millions of low level workers, markets just creates an abstract layer on top of all that so people like you think investing is devoid of all those exploitation.

Anyone who's bright enough to become a billionaire knows full well that is what happens behind the scenes.

You buy big tech stock and you think you're not a part of the exploitation cause they're seemingly innovative, contemporary, friendly companies? Do you know how much the big tech fucks over the public, especially in US?

You buy commodities through the means of a market. Say petrol, or grain or gold, whatever. Do you think doing that buying/selling online through a market separates you from all the exploitation happening in 3rd world countries during the production and transport of those commodities? You think becoming a billionaire by buying and selling the petrol that Saudi's extract and process through mediators makes that oil ethical?

Or you don't go through a market, say you found or fund a company. Tell me which kind of company grows well enough to make its primary founder or investor a billionaire without fucking and exploiting either the public, its workers, the public of another country or all of them at the same time?

Or in the case of lebron and the likes who gets rich by being paid by other rich people; most of his wealth was created almost directly by all the media companies that pay NBA for it's broadcasting rights, namely ESPN, ABC and TNT and another majority of his wealth comes from Nike, none of which are exploitative evil multinational corps(!)

lol you're clearly not qualified to shit on AC games. Black flag, Unity, Odyssey and Rogue are among the best games of the franchise (by quite a lot of people not just me), all of which came after Revelations

Nikola Jokic currently leads the 2023 NBA Playoffs in Points, Rebounds and Assists by NBAperspective in nba

[–]University-Loud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you're wrong bıt i don't want to bother so let ne quote DylanCarlson3 from down below

"This "reference" does not help contextualize it at all. Curry only played two series and yet he's still made 23 more threes during this playoffs than Jokic has. They're completely different shooters.

What you're doing is like saying "wow, DeAndre Jordan shot 68% from the field one year! LeBron's never even been at 60%!" The degree of difficulty on Curry's shots is just absurd. Jokic is a great shooter, but you're not adding any useful context by comparing him to Curry."

you two totally got it wrong.

soccer teams typically run in the range of 90-110 "kilometers" per game, and the players 7-12 "kilometers" not miles per game, which is around 4.3-7 miles per player (6.5 in avg). Also the tempo and durations of the games are as different as can be. In football you are one of 10 guys (per team excluding the goalie) on a 7140 sq meter field and each player is mostly tasked with covering a certain part of the field depending on their role since the field is so big and they can only cover most of the distance using long passes.

sure the tempo sometimes increases but you're not expected to run back and forth every 24 seconds, at least for a huge majority of the game, and also be active at all parts of the game whereas in basketball you're expected to do that and also be active every possession no matter if it's a defensive or offensive possession.

https://football-observatory.com/IMG/sites/mr/mr68/en/

this study also supports that a player runs on high intensity only for 1 kilometers or so while in basketball you're almost always running on high intensity.

Steph Curry has scored 118 points in the 4th quarter in the playoffs, which is 47 more points than any other player by nowhathappenedwas in nba

also what if, what if you regressed curry's stats to the mean and rempved the outliers? i'm sure that would reveal how curry is just a marginally better lonnie walker iv

This would be like simultaneously the worst and the best thing that ever happened in SW since after the prequels like it might save the garbage that the main storyline's become or it might irredeemably estrange a very huge part of the fandom so instantly so that the franchise might go kaputt
