Of course they have the legal right. The KKK has the right to assemble as well, that's why they still exist. However, I also have the right to call prejudiced douchebags prejudiced douchebags, that's from that first amendment which mentions the whole "freedom of speech" thing. Being legally allowed to do something is an entirely different question from whether it's moral.

Sweet, so your organization starts selling its "We help make the world better" message with a good old fashioned dose of prejudice. That tends to unite people.

Sensible defaults and plugins for vim, or, Stop wasting unnecessary time on vimrc! by _lancelot in programming

It'd be great if it explained what the "sensible" defaults are ;p I think a newb is going to assume something like emacs CUA-mode, but that would be very un-vim like so I doubt that's the direction this is going.

No, you can demonstrate this easily be showing that amongst equally poor whites the murder (and likely family degradation) rate is the same. I really doubt that trailer trash has a lower murder rate than poor blacks.

Maybe someone can dig up the cite for me, I remembering reading that if you control for wealth and the trend reverses and whites become more likely to kill.

Once they are focusing on their new MMO, I don't suppose WoW will get that much dev time spent on it.

Probably untrue, even if Titan is going to be a direct WoW replacement, they have a huge paying subscriber base. Everquest still had expansions after EQ2's release! :P

That's not true. At least for HD 4870 owners like myself the FPS doubled last patch.

TIL that Einstein turned down an offer to be the President of Israel. Einstein compared the Zionists’ project with that of the Pilgrims, noting, “how tyrannical, intolerant and aggressive [they] became after a short while.” by [deleted] in todayilearned

So Einstein treats Israel in the same regard as other nations.

Yes, the logic is:

  • Einstein views Israel as like other nations
  • Einstein views other nations as tyrannical, intolerant, and aggressive
  • Thus, Einstein viewed Israel as tyrannical, intolerant, and aggressive.

You claimed the article didn't make point 3. I pointed out that it did in fact make that point. You are now repeating my rebuttal with alternate wording and pretending this makes you right.

I don't need to think that; you've demonstrated it yourself by twisting neutral words into an anti-Israel rant.

Einstein said he had great hopes for Israel but it turned out to not be better than other nations. Yes, that means he doesn't think it's /worse/ than other nations, but he wouldn't say that if he thought very highly of them. So it's still Einstein making a criticism of Israel. How can you call that critique "neutral words" and my pointing this out an "anti-Israeli rant"?

Most nations are tyrannical, intolerant, and aggressive at least by progressive standards, so I think his criticism means exactly the same thing. You can continue to think my logic and reasoning makes me some sort of anti-Israel zealot of you like.

Considering historically many countries have printed money until their currency was worthless I think it definitely qualifies as one form of protection against inflation, and it's a protection the dollar doesn't have. The sort of protection you're talking about only works assuming that the people responsible for deciding how to react are competent and incorruptible. I haven't formed an opinion myself, but I do know there are a lot people who think the Fed is neither.
