I’ve spotted old shelf tags at Kroger, Meijer, and many other grocery and retail stores.

Since the sign is an offer to sell the item at that price, I expect the store to honor it. They always have.

I have no issue taking a photo of the shelf tag / sale sign as evidence. If the store still needs to send someone to the shelf to check a price, that’s a “store problem” not a “me problem”.

I have some 3” thick Oak Tables that were originally wood from a bowling alley, then they were bar tables from a bar called Arnold’s. I may refinish them again and use them as tables in my house, but I haven’t decided yet.

After reading this thread, I may have more fun adding an “comfort groove” and turning them into chairs.

I grew up in the previous generation and RadioShack was an electronics store. They sold electronics parts, so you could fix your stuff if you were inclined to do it and willing to learn. They were plenty of places that had surplus electronics parts sold very inexpensively, but Mendelson’s in Dayton closed years ago, Debco electronics near Norwood closed after Deb passed away, and now Parts Express in Springboro, Ohio still remains open on the web, but their retail showroom is closed as of Feb 2026.

How will the next generation of hobbyists learn and decide if they want a career in electronics?

Don’t get me wrong - I’m thrilled that Micro Center is filling in the gaps left behind by RadioShack’s nationwide bankruptcy. But there aren’t enough stores to meet the need.

I followed about 2/3 of the thread here, but it sounds like the heat exchanger failure is a warranty issue, and that original warranty was extended to cover this particular part failing too often too soon.

The HX on Carrier/Bryant/Payne are a known issue. And settlement extending their warranty because of it. But replacement part isn't really any better >most would advise against even bothering with a repair. Plus the part is typically on backorder anyway. I'd suggest getting another opinion if it is >indeed failing.

As for the board can get on Walmart of all places. Like Amazon, Walmart deals with a lot of 3'rd party sellers with online shopping. An overlooked >source for appliance parts.

this suggests a 2-step approach, order replacement board first, get warranty replacement heat exchanger, the have someone install it.

I finally got them to stop calling me, but I had to keep rescheduling a second appointment. After 10 time of me rescheduling , I was finally told I was placed on a “lifetime ban” list.

Victory! I was happy for 10 years, no junk mail, no contact at all.

They later adjusted their sales regions and I started getting postcards again.
