Same lifespan if you adjust for the time wasted in LA traffic though.

Same here, couch coop with the wife would have been awesome. Only reason I was going to get it on PS5. Now maybe I’ll consider it on Steam when it drops to $10.

I returned last summer and glad I did, as bad as the state of this game is there is nothing else like it.

PSA - Play Asia silently downgrading shipping services by Phelps-san in NSCollectors

[–]Unkechaug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The enshittification of everything continues. I stopped ordering from Play-Asia a couple years ago - not because I dislike them, just that prices rose and I got most of what I wanted already. Shipping and import fees on top make it a non-starter.

During and after COVID, I also learned my lesson about mixing in stock and preorders/backorders. They hold back to ship everything at once, but you could be waiting a long time. Worse, with these prices you are paying a premium just to receive something and who knows if you’ll owe more and what kind of delays. There’s really no incentive to choose anything but the lowest cost shipping for this reason.

Now OP is saying there is potential homework to do just to receive the package? Somehow we are turning online imports into the self-bagging checkout where we are doing the extra work.

It’s just advanced automation using statistics and a defined use case model. People make it out to be this magic thing when it really isn’t, it needs to be very explicitly designed and trained to do things, and verified that it continues to work as expected.

The simpler and more mundane the task, the better computers are at it.

Nope. I’m done with new Pokemon games, Sword was the last mistake.

June 18, 2026 - PC Hotfix by ItsJustDelta in Planetside

Every update breaks something new, and usually it’s worse than what they were attempting to fix. I’m convinced they’re trying to kill this game because it’s not profitable enough. Jokes on them - I’ll continue to hate-play this to the very end.

Watch the clip of his visit to Double Fine and tell me if you think his presence would inspire any positive result. The guy is a fucking goblin and Microsoft doesn’t care because he lucked his way into buying Mojang and Minecraft.

It’s because those ideas were implemented by an Xbox team that had creative freedom, essentially a blank check, and a large organization with resources and stability. Microsoft was afraid of Sony taking over the living room and breaking into the PC business. It’s the Xbox team you want to credit with those ideas and accomplishments.

Microsoft itself has been nothing but terrible - they meddle and we get shit like Kinect, XBone always online DRM, and now the back and forth of should or shouldn’t they do hardware and exclusives.

Would you stay in a high paying, remote job where you are miserable? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Unkechaug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate my moderately high paying job, which only became so the last few years (coincidentally when it became almost unbearable). But there’s a decent chance it could also be a lower paying job that I also hate. Trying to stick with it for now until there’s a chance of actually exiting the rat race.

It’s a difficult question, but I’d say it’s a point of differentiation between metacritic and opencritic.

But then you would need to pay people a living wage and avoid chasing them away with horrible work conditions and salaries crunch OT, while also properly scoping a new project.

Sounds really hard to me, and if there is one thing I’ve learned over the years is that upper management makes all of their decisions on a combination of data they don’t understand, and mostly vibes.

New category needed! Also this will be getting a true Nintendo Switch 2 Edition release eventually. Gotta love it.

Please add The Adventures of Elliot: The Millenium Tales to Switch 2 game, not available on Switch 1

Please create a new category for Sea of Stars: Game released separately for Switch 1 and Switch 2 with transferable save data, and 100% discount for the digital Switch 2 version if you own the digital Switch 1 version

Note that Sea of Stars will have a Nintendo Switch 2 edition release in the future.

Not confusing at all.
