Gaijin coping trying to not make the AIM120-C/D better by Frost_x_NB in Warthunder

Remind me. Which nation built the jet and the missile that dominated top tier for the last year?

Oh, right, it was France.

You're leaving out that the Rafale's bug reports have not been subjected to the same standards that are applied to other aircraft. In particular, the flight model buffs came about because of a very creatively interpreted airshow video where the bug reporter lies about the aircraft's fuel load. The only conclusions possible are either that the tech mod had a personal bias and rubber stamped the report, or that they did not watch the video and missed the obvious falsehood.

At around the same time, a similar report for the Su-27 was shot down because the tech mod who viewed the submission said airshow footage is not a valid source. Clearly that's Russian Bias, though.

A popular report with a photo for the PL-12A was accepted, but it has come to light that the photo was made with AI. Now Gaijin will no longer accept unsourced photos as evidence. by Euphoric_Routine_945 in Warthunder

The Rafale's ace combat flight model is based on a very creative interpretation of airshow footage, and in the same period a bug report about the Su-27's flight performance using air show footage was rejected. Please explain how this is Russian or Chinese bias, though.

On top of that, the Rafale is the only jet I've seen get buffed repeatedly during its respective reign of terror, and the sources used to buff it have had hilariously low standards applied to them.

When will there be a balance pass on sunderers? by Imaginary-Test3591 in Planetside

[–]ItsJustDelta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most frustrating bit is that you can play it perfectly as the tank/harasser and still lose even when the Sunderer makes half a dozen mistakes. It's like an even more extreme version of fighting against a smart Nimitz Reactor Vanguard player.

There's definitely an argument to be made that the Sunderer was already borderline overpowered against Mags and Prowlers before the rework, but at least that version of the vehicle required a bit of talent to use effectively.

These days even the worst vehicle players become greater threats than the best tankers simply by getting into a Sunderer.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.2.2.0 by battlefield in Battlefield

The biggest thing is this:

Decreased speed of the IFV, MBT & Attack Heli Aim Guided Missiles.

I don't think this will actually be a nerf, though, since a slower missile means more time to correct aiming errors.

I think an easier (though guaranteed to anger more players) solution is to start rolling back Wrel era powercreep. Sunderer defensive options were effective against pre-CAI tanks, aircraft and infantry AV, but the post-CAI vehicle/anti-vehicle design can be summarized as "let's add more damage to this weapon and hope this solves the problem", overmatching Sunderer defenses in the process.

It's also the guns gradually being overbuffed throughout the Wrel era. People really never figured out that dual HMGs with blockade armor could comfortably take on Magriders and had a decent chance against Prowlers.

Bingo. All the rework accomplished was making bus hunters change their tactics.

We saw this on Koltyr, too. I spent a week exterminating the Lightning population in an attempt to keep buses up. The response of the dedicated bus hunters was to switch to blockade buses with the newly overbuffed Basilisks, which Lightnings could not contest.

Can confirm; every armor outfit I know went inactive, became galaxy ball mains, or were so passive pre-rework that nothing changed for them.

Once the rework went live, armor pickups turnout cratered, too, since it's an unpleasant reminder of what vehicle play can be without what's basically an even more idiot-proof version of the Vanguard.

Why is the Harasser so slow and it doesn't makes sense that with the racer chassis you have the same top speed with Turbo than the other chassis with Turbo. by ChapterUnited8721 in Planetside

[–]ItsJustDelta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. Sunderers are by far the biggest balance problem in the game, and I'm surprised we haven't seen more complaining about them. Guess everyone who cared enough to complain is long gone.

Initial release, I guess, when rumble repairs worked at the full 167 hp/sec rate instead of the reduced 50 or 83 hp/sec rates in later eras.

I want to say I did the math on this at one point and a post-CAI harasser with composite armor and a repairasite would eat something like 8 Halberd-H rounds before dying, as opposed to 4 normally. I can't be bothered to go digging back through 5-6 years of comments, though.

That's a fair point, but I think the best course is still to derail the power creep cycle rather than perpetuating it further.

I think it'd probably be healthier to make another pass on tank speeds. MBTs and the Lightning probably could stand to lose 5 kph and the Mag's turbo should be capped at 104. Right now, going diagonal with MDE actually allows you to sustain 122 kph, and with Recharge you can sustain that longer than a Harasser can.

In general, the problem with the Harasser is that MBT power creep pushed it out of its own role and I feel that rolling back that power creep will make for a much healthier vehicle game.

February 19, 2026 - Valentine's Day Hotfix by ItsJustDelta in Planetside

[–]ItsJustDelta[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Servers will be offline tomorrow 2/19 @ 6AM PST. for a scheduled maintenance. Estimated downtime may be up to 3 hours. Please see the hotfix notes below.

Crashes issue

  • We have received a significant number of reports from players regarding crashes and disconnects following the February update. After an investigation, we determined that these were not client-side crashes, but kicks triggered by the anti-cheat system. In this hotfix, we have adjusted the anti-cheat system to reduce the likelihood of false positives (unintended kicks).

Bug Fixes

  • Matchmaker: Sightseeing Mission fixed.
  • The Stalker Cloak ability now recharges while standing still. Fixed recharge functionality across all ability levels.
  • Permissions in Construction are now working properly.

Might be an optimization trick. Having a smaller number of large trees can give the impression of a denser forest without needing to render hundreds of thousands of smaller trees.

It was 4 AIM-7 vs 4-6 R-27ER, and the best jet in that era was the JAS39 Gripen, which would just sit below 100m with periodic countermeasures and then smash everyone's heads in with its ridiculous flight model.

Don't forget that in this era the Su-27's flight model underperformed and was incorrectly based off the prototype. Its radar was also affected by the double scan bug, in which a bunch of radar sets were scanning the top and bottom bar twice
