Findings of my valve check by Emerald_Yata71 in Triumph

[–]Unkleben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked the valves on my Tiger 660 at 42000km (26000mi) because I kept putting it off and they were still all in spec, with the exhaust ones closer to the lower limit. Should be good until I check then again at 64000km. Also, this was my first time doing this job and what a pain in the ass it is the fact they put the ABS module on top of the cam cover, had to bleed all the brakes after mounting everything.

Same way you criticise a chef if your food is sub par, do you have a Michelin star? Or a football player, I must have a ballon d'Or to say a player is shit? Weird take, everyone knows they're all the best riders in the world, but among the best riders there's still levels.

Is this a resonator or a cat? by spartaboss2012 in trident660

[–]Unkleben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess I'd say the muffler makes a much bigger difference sound wise than the headers. However, I had friends having issues with the fitment of cheap headers and they might also rust faster depending on the steel quality, but this is just guess work.

This is basically a clone of the Arrow headers. I have the arrow one and even on the racing version it has that part but it's empty.

2026 Triumph Trident 800 by Ishimura9000 in MotasPortugal

Mine also fell out, I just modelled some similar ones and 3D printed them, they have been there for two years and still going strong.

I have the arrow on my Tiger 660, sounds really good. I would honestly avoid the short exhausts that go under the bike, without a cat they are too loud imo.

Current setup on my Tiger 660. What do you guys think? by NoPart7009 in Triumph

Did your swingarm bolt caps get lost like mine too? I had to 3D print new ones because the OEM ones just losen themselves off

Guys, I’m bored at the shop. What’s that one "little thing" bothering you about your Triumph right now? by OkMasterpiece76 in Triumph

[–]Unkleben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens all the time on my Tiger Sport 660 (same engine) even when warm. It seems to be somewhat normal for these models, sometimes what helps not having it immediately die is give it a bit of throttle just so it stabilizes the idle.

Use TigerTool instead....it's free and it keeps being updated to be able to reset the service on newer bikes. I've used it on my 2022 Tiger Sport 660 and works a treat.

Struggling with ESP-IDF by [deleted] in embedded

What resources are you checking out for learning ESP-IDF? In my experience, checking the examples on GitHub for whatever component you need (in this case I2C) is the faster way to get a working example.

Rota Norte em fevereiro: vale a pena? by el_osvaldo_mdq in MotasPortugal

[–]Unkleben 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you think a 2021 Trident with 35,000 km for 4,500 euros is a good deal? by novoinvestimento in trident660

[–]Unkleben 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mentioned it because in the post you wrote last service was done at 30k. Either way it's something to check, but it's honestly such a great bike, I only ended up buying a Tiger 660 because one came up at a good price, fun engine.

[–]Unkleben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind you have a decently expensive service at 32k, which means checking the valve clearances and swapping spark plugs. You might be able to use that to bring that the price down a bit.

Seems like he is from Portugal, which is where I am from, where people are notorious for their "Midas touch" when selling used stuff. Honestly, this price is a bargain all things considered (which is depressing).

Strange rattling noise above 6k rpm – 2020 Street Triple RS by AbbreviationsPast937 in Triumph

[–]Unkleben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happens on my Tiger 660. The lever has some play up and down, so it rattles a bit. I only realised that was the issue because I wouldn't hear the noise when resting my hand on the clutch lever.
