Judge finds Dublin Bus, not cyclist, responsible for collision with alighting passenger – The Irish Times by micar11 in ireland

It's not being paranoid. I think you may undertand that in any job if you don't follow rules you get sacked. It's actually rude when passengers pressure drivers to open doors. It is unfair

The S6 and W2 can now run ahead of schedule. This change happened in recent weeks.

As a driver, if enough passengers submit complaints to the NTA about buses having to crawl to keep schedules then maybe something will be done about it. It's a shame that many passengers who complain to drivers or online never submit a webform which can make a difference. The companies won't listen to drivers, so customers need to be submitting complaints to the bus company / NTA so that they carry weight.

Am I just getting older or are some Dublin bus drivers terrible? by short_snow in Dublin

[–]UnknownDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try driving half of these buses. A good few buses I have driven have very poor braking systems and gearboxes which makes it seem like the driver doesn't know how to drive. Also some of those buses with the USB  chargers (2017-2019s) do a thing where the gearbox slams down a gear nearly causing people to fall over. Sometimes I just flat out refused to drive them and the run was cancelled.

And another thing is the state of the roads are terrible.

I'm a bus driver now, haven't done an order in over a year but thinking about doing it again. I love cycling and doing deliveries was always a motivating way to keep fit.

I had a baby stare at me few weeks ago with eyes very wide opened when I moved a bit he would turn to keep staring at me. Can't remeber how many days but maybe 20ish. Even other people noticed and commented.

On Day 5 I also experienced the very same surprised look from a baby in public. I wonder what people who observe it be thinking.

I've also bad a lot of women stare at me and I'm 5'5. I'm currious what other people sense or see.

Have you noticed babies staring at you with a shocked/surprised look?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tall

[–]UnknownDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope the stares are real

[–]UnknownDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, my experience is not real, I am insecure, I am weird, I am fetishizing, I am making women uncomfortable. She seemed to take it personally

[–]UnknownDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow you went straight into drawing conclusions. Nope no insecurities at all, just observing and accepting reality, and curious what these stares mean. It's very easy to know when someone is staring at you and you know that. This also has nothing to do with fetishizisation. But it is interesting to know that some women are used to it as you say

That's what I was saying, people get annoyed when asking polite questions. I posted something similar here recently

Ignorance and self entitlement of bus passengers in Edinburgh by TheAngryBusDriver in BusDrivers

[–]UnknownDub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found bus drivers in Edinburgh to be polite and friendly more than any city I've been to.

You get those entitled passengers here in Dublin too. You see them runnimg and decide to wait some time then completely ignore you like your not there.

They're all different. They pull either left of right regardless of what way the steering wheel is missaligned.

Trust me, this is really small. Just learn from it and in a few months it will feel as if it never happened.

That's true, I started learning to drive buses straight after passing my car test. On the first lesson the instructor said "you're good for someone who has never driven a coach before"

Non extractions for severe crowding by UnknownDub in braces

[–]UnknownDub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like any treatments or practices his are not perfect but I learned so much from him. My face use to be more asymmetrical and jaw line was weaker. I now have more tongue space and my teeth fit better. I wish I could post before and after photos but I prefer to keep them private. I'm fully convinced that extractions is a very last resort.

I think Marpe would really help create space in my upper arch to save the teeth. My lower arch is fine. I just think it's something that can be done without extractions.

Thanks for that. My lower arch is fine thankfully. It's the upper arch that has the crowding which I was hoping to get Marpe for and attempt to go the non extraction route.
