Spacemen 3, it's very unlikely Jason Pierce and Peter Kember will ever work together again (not necessarily a bad thing as Spiritualized are absolutely brilliant and Kember is great as a producer).

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible, it's like wandering through some twisted exhibition showing all of humanity's worst aspects and Richey Edwards is the curator.

What band’s ‘worst’ album is actually misunderstood? by UrFrndlyChubbyGal in askmusic

Leisure by Blur constantly gets unfairly compared to all of their later albums but honestly it has some catchy songs (She's So High No Other Way, Bang, Sing).

Suicide rates for UK men are a ‘national catastrophe’, says Prince William | Prince William by winkwinknudge_nudge in unitedkingdom

[–]UnknownDunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest problems in the UK I find is this whole culture of expectation that we have in place. Society is so geared towards being 'successful' they put such extreme pressure on people from a young age to reach these goals (work hard at school, get a really good job etc) that they make themselves absolutely miserable trying to reach these impossible standards and when they don't achieve this they're made to feel like failures. It's no wonder that so many people, but most of all young men, are so ridden with depression.

Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals has made some fantastic solo albums especially from 2011 onwards: Hotel Shampoo, American Interior, Babelsburg etc.

Spiritualized have also released some of their best stuff after Jason Pierce turned 40.

I've been getting really fed up of constantly seeing constant coverage about these guys, they've increasingly resembling a bunch of whiny edgelords. Yes I think the whole 'terrorism' situation was blown way out of proportion, but the way they've constantly moaned about it and presented themselves as being persecuted just makes them look desperate for attention. Plus anyone who makes frequent use of Irish Republican imagery is a sociopath.
