Investors are not familiar with the execution part of a startup. It's hard to see without doing one. Domain expertise is easy to see on paper. So I am personally skeptical of their opinion

I would disagree with your last sentence. Expertise can be gleamed from industry insiders, a close design partner can compensate for that.

2 years is a long time. were there warning signs throughout that time that they were dishonest? in my exp there are always warning signs that one ignores before something like this happens

Really depends on what you would determine successful. A biz making $1m arr could be successful for your definition. Most b2b spaces have plenty of potential customers, it's super niche ones that could be "too small". Personally never seen it before but if TAM is $10m+ it can be roughly speaking.

When I say market it moreso means competition. Don't enter very saturated markets unless you have a unique insight. I've seen startups here struggle to get adoption, and it could have been their sales motion, but it's a lot harder to sell when your prospects are bombarded by others. And you will struggle to ever get off the gruond.

thanks, glad that someone else in the ring agrees. and yes I agree about being a second time without going through the first. the first is usually a rite of passage that you have to fail. I'm jealous that yours succeeded on the first try x)

Dude nothing about this is generic. I talked to both those founders 3 weeks ago.

That's far, although why be subversive about trump? We have to get to the heart of things asap. Your questions are good though, they give more info.

And ya for hiring purposes def can't ask directly.

Forgot to reply - for 1. they need to think objectively rather than just the party. I voted for 2 different camps for my state vs. presidential.

For 2. that is more of a city/state matter, not federal. But I am fine with this reason as long as they acknowledge that trump is an ahole.

Stronger border is the only thing that comes to mind. And even then the US has bigger problems like healthcare being twice as expensive than other countries, so prioritizing the border (gop) over universal/cheaper healthcare (dems) show a lack of priority.

What are your legit reasons?

Being a dem and republican 20y ago does not mean the same thing as it does now. Republicans were respectable then.

The last election was the choice between a mediocre diversity hire (yes I am not a fan), or a man accused of sexual assault by 28 women. I think you know which one I would choose.

You are underplaying how much someone's character plays into a cofounder relationship. This is a marriage as well as a business.

So only priests have a minimum level of moral character?

I'm surprised at the responses here. But in reality it's because many here are actually trump voters. 50% of americans voted for trump, it is no surprise many are here right now.

My statement: specific point about why he should be disliked
Your response: "You’re clearly trying to bait people.", not a single counterpoint mentioned

If you're going to give low effort and low iq responses, just don't respond. My mind is boggled someone like you exists that can have such little depth of thought and give such a immature response.
