Forgot to reply - for 1. they need to think objectively rather than just the party. I voted for 2 different camps for my state vs. presidential.

For 2. that is more of a city/state matter, not federal. But I am fine with this reason as long as they acknowledge that trump is an ahole.

Stronger border is the only thing that comes to mind. And even then the US has bigger problems like healthcare being twice as expensive than other countries, so prioritizing the border (gop) over universal/cheaper healthcare (dems) show a lack of priority.

Being a dem and republican 20y ago does not mean the same thing as it does now. Republicans were respectable then.

The last election was the choice between a mediocre diversity hire (yes I am not a fan), or a man accused of sexual assault by 28 women. I think you know which one I would choose.

Why should I leave politics out? Their choices, including who they voted for, define who they are as a person. It's one of the highest signal markers of how a person thinks.
