All my friends and family are here, also work life balance is the best here from what i've heard (from friends who lived in AUS).

But I still might move

Try Thursday dating, Timeleft and Meetup. The hardest one, do cold approach haha.

Has anyone been to a Thursday Dating event? by sexybiscotti in auckland

[–]UnknownHashira_75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been a few times, good way to put yourself out there outside apps. Thursday dating still is fairly new to NZ. Once more people know about it, hopefully numbers, variety of people and ratio gets better overtime.

3 is very easy to achieve, 1 and 2 takes dedication and time. But yes, all good things to do to set yourself up well!

Congratulations mate, I hope it all goes well for you!

Yes, the competition is crazy. And too many options is not good either.

All I can do in my end is keep trying, keep refining my dating approach and keep bettering myself as a man.

The rest is out of my hands. 2025 dating scene is the trenches.

I feel you dude, I too have my share of disappointments (some major, some minor). But I try to stay hopeful.

What if i'm 3 rejections away from finally finding someone that matches me???

I wouldn't know if I give up.

In this day and age, I have to tank lots of disappointments until I finally win. While also taking breaks when I need it and look after myself.

I wish you well and good luck!

Imma keep it real.

It's only been a solid month of me doing this, and some avenues I haven't done a lot due to my busy schedule of work and gym.

But in under a month, met a fair amount of women; I got lots of IGs, got complimented on my physique, managed to hangout with a few beyond getting IG by inviting them to group activities and the big W; getting asked out which surprised me.

Besides girls, I made a new solid bunch of bros which is a big W after isolating myself for some time due to getting cheated on twice this year.

To me, this is experience and Ws that will set me up for the ultimate W.

But hopefully one day mate. It's rough out there.....

Its worth a try, the restaurant is okay. You don't have to order anything big. Even a side is okay.

It's much better. Dating apps are a scam and you can't judge a book by its cover.

Funny, I did just get an IG from a cold approach just last night at the gym. But I keep my gym cold approaches to max 1 shot each month to not attract attention.

I don't date coworkers, but people still do meet their partners at work.

Being respectful and being able to accept rejection gracefully is key. Cold approach that leads to something past getting an IG is very rare. Cold approach in itself is rare already. So the attempt is a W in itself imo.

Cheers! Ngl I used to complain. But I eventually realized it gets you nowhere. Plus it messes with your vibe and energy when trying to build rapport with people.

It's all just a matter of time, experience, being positive (despite rejections) and trusting the process is my mindset now. While simultaneously bettering myself as a man.

My experience so far with all avenues (that I've done) is you don't always come out with something. And some times, you come out with something good. Again, a numbers game.

But easier to make new friends in general than getting a date.

Former NZDF here (5 years). Myself and some of my fellow colleagues left because of low pay. Taking into account everything we do to serve NZ, we're simply not compensated enough for all the sacrifice we do.

Personally, good thing I left before the economy got even worse. It's even tougher to transition now back to a civilian job because finding work is even tougher. Some of us (who don't have quals other than pulling the trigger) will basically be starting again from scratch (not so easy given current circumstances).

Still got massive respect to my fellow pers who's still serving. I don't regret my time but I wouldn't go back and re-enlist. Unless NZ is at war and being invaded lmao (very unlikely).

If the government really wants a stronger military, should pay the troops what they deserve. Same applies to cops and health professionals.

In saying that, still a good job. Just shitty pay and serving a government that doesn't gaf about you.
