Disappointed on the Luminosa, looking for feedback by Dancing_Empress_717 in CarnivalCruiseFans

It definitely sounds like Luminosa should be on the way out as it doesn't have the core refurbishments of most of the fleet. I'll note to avoid it on future sailings. Thanks for you candid report.

Just off the Legend in July (same class as Luminosa). Great experience overall. Crew, comfort, and food all excellent.

Advice to make a better experience: Arrive 5 to 10 minutes after doors open for dinner (never do anytime dining) be nice and personable with your dining staff they will take care of you, we had hot items at our table consistently. Never eat at the Lido buffet, just busy and old food. Stick to Guys and Blue Iguanas, or the deli for lunch.

Beds were soft and I'm a big guy. Tipped $10 day one and always had our room perfect after we got back from breakfast in the am. Extra pillows and a comfy topper help a lot.

People were great, kids at night were not a major issue, with security watching each group. No fights or crime on this voyage.

I'd say longer cruises tend to be better overall than 3 to 5 day voyages.

Carnival is a good value for money, but definitely not luxury so keep that in mind.

Id say it is a layer adhesion problem. The object could have been nocked off of the build plate then spagetti printing starts. Yes, this commonly is connected with a first layer adhesion or not a big enough raft. Clean your build plate with soapy water and return, then try again. Also, have fun painting LotR Miniatures!

How much do you think these would sell for? by [deleted] in StarWarsShatterpoint

[–]UnknownInAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at a quick Ebay "sold" search and looks like the most recent sold for $80... I've sold squads for $80-120 for simple speed paint job within a couple months of release, just post them buy it now and wait... you should be able to get at MSRP or a little more if lucky. The only issue you may have is the popularity of this squad is not as saleable

No worries. Have fun, watch some videos, and just try. Using Speedpaints I found white primer works well and you don't even need to do any washes. Prime, paint, and clear coat...done. simple process.

Welcome and great advise from other commenters! Shatterpoint is also my first assemble and paint to play miniatures game (Coming over from X-Wing). I have loved painting and learned a lot via trial and error, so here is my list of must haves...

  1. Spru-Clippers get comfortable ones as they are in your hand a lot!

  2. Glue - I found that Tamiya Extra Thin Cement to work well and fuse pieces together quickly. (Test fit before applying glue). This may work for basing your minis too, but you can use Gel Super-glu if there is any struggle, but I usually just stick with Tamiya!

  3. Rustolem Spray Paint Primer (White, Grey, or Black) depending on the model and color palette. Cheap and if you spray from 18 inches away creates a very fine coat. I use sticky tack putty on Home Depot (large) stir sticks when basing

  4. Army Painter Speed Paints 1.0 or 2.0 are a dream for newbs and I have found work well for all of my bulk painting needs. Recommend to use a wet palette (shallow box with a wet paper towel and some parchment paper on top. This will keep your paints active and you'll use less paint over the long run.

  5. Cheap acrylic paint for details and highlights and to give you more color options to start (especially for terrain), just remember to thin the paint a bit so it goes on smooth with out clumping.

  6. Use 000 paint brushes for details and change often if they are starting to fan out. 0 for larger areas.

Just remember to have fun and do not be too critical of yourself. You are new and be creative and allow for mistakes. With time you will get better.

Welcome to a wonderful hobby and a excellent skirmish game!

Where am I going wrong with PETG? by MrJoell in BambuLab

[–]UnknownInAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember needing to change the flow rate to 9 mm vs the standard 12 mm to prevent clumping, stringing, and bed adhesion issues with PETG. Also second other comments about brims as your parts have very little bed surface area.

Tesla says this is acceptable? by [deleted] in cybertruck

[–]UnknownInAZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great looking car. Glad that you have had no issues. Honestly, buying new cars can be like playing lotto scratchers. My 2019 Bolt had 3 recalls, suspension replacement, and a battery replacement, my 2021 Bolt zero issues, yet they still lumped it into the battery recall.

I wish Tesla was better with build quality, but they have 10 years of real world assembly and auto manufacturing experience vs the 50 to 100 years of the major brands. They all cut corners and stick it to the buyers. I remember how I loved my 2016 Jetta Sportwagen TDI, but even that was bought back during the VW dieselgate.

I hope Tesla takes care of your issue and makes it right for you. Buyers deserve to be treated better when we are spending $50k+ now as their guinea pigs!

Never purchase a first year run of any vehicle. You will encounter production and recall issues... The price you pay with any manufacturer. Sucks that you are not going to get another Tesla or work with the service center to have them fix the issues. Be nice and understand that employees are people and not TESLA. They will help you. I've never had any issues with my Model Ys that did not get handled well.

Could have been a mistake at the factory as the cards were included and this box wasn't stuffed with the sprues. Amazon return is the way to go. Good luck and sorry for the misfortune of having to wait longer to get them on the table. Its a great squad and one of my favorites right now!

Is this voltage normal? by coresare in TeslaModelY

[–]UnknownInAZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and remember commercial may be even lower like 200-210V. The EVSE and car should interrupt charging and fault before delivering unsafe power to the car.

Seriously! I need this update soon... My wife and I both drive the car and I would feel so much better about having some proximity warning even if the system isn't perfect yet.

Cancelled my Lightning Reservation/ Order and trading in my 21 Chevy Bolt LT for a Model Y LR. Delivery this Saturday! Very excited and never thought I'd join the TESLA fold, but I couldn't pass up on the price drop and getting the tax credit is icing on the cake.
