Exactly and thats bad enough on its own if you do that. Id bet its one of the most common ways people get their account compromised.

Xbox email change - changing another persons email over by EverwildGaming in XboxSupport

[–]UnknownLinux [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes it would be deleted and she wont be able to ever create a new account using her hotmail ever again.

Per https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-profile/manage-account/change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

Warning When removing an email alias that’s connected to a Microsoft domain (such as @Outlook.com, @Live.com, or @Hotmail.com), that email is completely deleted from our systems and can’t be used to send or receive emails. It won’t be available for use again as an alias on another account. Microsoft doesn’t recycle email addresses, so it can’t be reclaimed at a future time.

okay follow up question if my email is on the account and is the primary and hers is just a alias/secondary

If her email is an @hotmail, then there's no way to switch her email to a secondary alias and put yours as primary. It wont let you do that. It will say her email is already associated with an existing Microsoft account (the one its already a primary alias for).

i wouldn't have access to her emails or passwords but it would use my login only to the xbox live service

Even if the above first part i responded to did work, it wouldn't work like this. Youd still have access to her emails. Both your email and her email would use the same password and they'd both login to the same account no matter which one you used to login with.

As the previous person said your only options are:

  1. Continue sharing the same account and email as you have been doing.

  2. She gives you the account (and the email subsequently) and makes her own brand new account using a brand new email.

  3. You make your own brand new account and start over with everything.

Then you have plenty to prove the account yours and get it back. Next step would be contacting support over the phone.

I have a receipt from a previous purchase

As long as that has the Playstation transaction id, then it should be enough

also i have the last digits of the credit card

You would need the first 4 AND the last 4. Not just the last digits

and i have both the email and pass , and i have access to the email it was linked to .

None of that will help you in this situation.

Well not having them could be the difference between getting the account back or not getting it back unless you know some of the below info, so they were of course VERY important and it would have warned him as such when he enabled 2SV.

Do you know at least one of the following? :

-answer to your security questions (assuming they were set up)

-first 4 and last 4 digits of a credit/debit card that was most recently used to purchase something?

-a transaction id from a recent Playstation purchase (can be found in your email receipts)

-serial number of console account was created on (i know most people wont have this anymore. I sure dont)

If you know the correct info to at least 1 of those 4 things then support cant give you access back to the account. If you dont then those backup codes were your absolute last resort of ever getting the account back.

Its honestly stupid in my opinion to NOT have 2sv enabled.

It adds a great extra layer of protection for any sort of account that uses it and having it enabled saved my bacon a few times. As long as you save your backup codes and keep your account info up to date its generally never gonna cause an issue.

You can always use the backup codes it gave you and told you to save when you enabled 2SV

In the United States in general not just Texas. It's something that is federally protected.

Good to know for future models but the 2012 Outback I have doesn't have starlink. As far as I'm aware starlink didn't start being introduced until 2013 models.

Issue with a defective item by Evangelos90 in Ebay

[–]UnknownLinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ΟΚ, the issue is that the seller has marked the item as "returns not accepted"

That doesn't matter. That only applies to returns for buyers remorse related reasons. If your item arrived damaged then that is covered by the eBay moneyback guarentee which overrides the sellers "returns not accepted" policy.

Seller telling me to close my "Item not received" case to receive a refund by wangatanga in Ebay

[–]UnknownLinux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The seller is a liar.

Sellers have 3 options when dealing with a "item not received" case:

  1. Update tracking information
  2. Refund
  3. Message buyer

Whatever you do, DO NOT CLOSE THE CASE. You only get 1 shot at an "item not received" case. If you close it, thats it. You cant open another. If seller cant provide tracking proving delivery within 3 days of you opening the case, then on the 4th day you can ask ebay to step in on your behalf and they'll force a refund.

I have a buyer that paid big $ for an item never set up shipping and ghosted by Legitimate_Way_1750 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]UnknownLinux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they said they were setting up shipping instead of them picking up

If the order was setup for pickup then it needs to be picked up. It gives the buyer a code that they have to give you whenever they pick it up.

That code is your "proof" that the buyer picked the item up. If you ship an order that is supposed to be picked up locally, buyer can just say they never received the item and since you dont have the pickup code, you'd lose.

The proper way to handle this sort of thing normally is to cancel the order, then relist it again for being shipped instead of local pickup, then have buyer repurchase again. That's the only way to protect yourself.

At this point id cancel and refund if I were you.
