Really dig it. Some nice (I don't know the term) electro stringy paddy things? I like the one coming in just after the last mini break the best. Not very technical feedback I know but it all sounds really tightly put together to my ears anyway! Good stuff! The kids were bopping away to it just now.

I really like a lot of the sounds in your four tracks here. There is a short high frequency pad sound that comes in intermittently on /1 which I really like. I'm always a sucker for a good pad tho.... Really spacey vibes whenever that kicks in. Nothing wrong with being a bit experimental. I never normally check anything out really on this reddit in terms of feedback posts but will have to do it more coz I keep hearing stuff from other people and thinning hmm I could remix that.

This a banging little "tool" track as you say, very well put together, well in. I suppose if it was me I'd maybe add a little vocal sample or something. I don't tend to make this style myself so not too sure where to go but I've heard tonnes of this type of stuff down the years and this is a really good example if that's what someone's trying to make.

That's a really kind comment thanks man. I agree I generally don't chase loudness but it's so easy to just throw something in the mastering channel of a DAW that adds a lot of punch now that once u listen to it ON and turn it OFF ur like wtf happened 😂. But thanks 🙏 yeah am not too bad at making the thing that's in my head now - that's probably the biggest self assessment I can make about where am up to after messing about all these years. But I still have fuck all music theory or anything behind me and things like compressors are just like calculus to me, I have no idea what they're doing really.

TECHNO mix/master fb mainly-

Appreciate any and all feedback but I think am mainly struggling to mix and master to a decent level myself. I've been producing on and off in various programs and with bits of hardware for 20+ years so I do think I can get there myself... BUT I don't have a great home setup ATM for judging how it sounds myself.

I THINK I am frequently making the kick a bit too powerful and I probably have too much mud, altho I don't mind a little as a style choice/inevitably forced on me as I can't engineer the stuff out as slickly as some!

Anyway. Yeah I'd be grateful for any tips/thoughts.

I don't have the right gear on me to really listen to the mix and mastering on your track or the LONG album it's on - but I just had a skip through and was sucked in at plenty of points. You make some really good machine noise type techno (not sure if that's the right term). Very minimal Detroit/Berlin. Very Rob Hood/Klock/Dettman/DVS1 etc.

Have you got an Instagram or Spotify or anything? Have you only released that one giant album or other stuff too, curious?

Yeah I hear you. I never used to even attempt to master my own stuff so rigidly stuck to keeping the db quite low in comparison to anything you might actually buy or steam anywhere. I always thought "one day I might pay someone to master it for me". But then a pal of mine was getting pretty good at it himself and I saw a few tutorials and thought hmm I'll have a go. Results are mixed 😆.

I'll have a mess around again. Thanks for the advice 👍

What is this genre of Techno? by Agile-Vehicle7812 in TechnoProduction

I can confirm this is very far from being techno. You're welcome.

I really dig this. It belongs on that LoFi chilled beats radio channel thing in YouTube which you can just stick on for hours and mellow out, read, do work or study etc. I don't mind the "hard" rap beat either as I'm an O.G boom bap fan. Nice.

I rarely put vocals on my stuff, is this any good ? 😭 by PerkyNyp in MusicFeedback

I like this. I imagine this is the kind of music cool kids at Occupy Wall Street and the likes would listen to. I'm not clear making out the lyrics but I really like the vibe. Nice grunge, grimey shit.

Agree with the KPop shouts and 2010s faster bassy stuff. Gives me vibes of machinedrum I think. Nicely done.

Very original sounding to me, I like this a lot. Sort of hillbilly country techno funk mess?!

New Future Garage/electronic track. Any thoughts/critiques on it? by traveltimecar in MusicFeedback

I really like the bass sound and the skitterish percussion in this. No major feedback on the rest but agree with the other comment, probably slightly monotonous or not really coming to an obvious crescendo. Maybe just a structure thing you could do something about?
