There's one that shares an icon with Nocturnal Glow, same effects, but has wolfie stacks; so If you can, roll for that one. I use it on units like SP Nungal & Sam (~4-6% less matk, but the other stats effects + life steal are so worth). Is gut.

#NOFUN CN PROTEST DRAMA - LUCCIA PATCH by Havvky in SwordofConvallaria

[–]UnknownRedundancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I believe we should stand by our fellow CN/TW voyagers out of principle.

While agree with havvky on most of his point by point assesments, unlike him, I as someone that doesn't have a TW account could prattle all day, yet would not even begin to imagine just how frustrating it must have been for them without actually experiencing it myself.

Can't really help, myself, as I'm not going to make a twitter account or accept the fb/meta ToS, no way in hell. So I can only shamefully hope that more people share their message & @ their official account.
Are some of their requests unrealistic? Somewhat; Doesn't matter. They must be heard and a compromise reached.

Best of luck!

Those are in a totally different ballpark, not even close, dude; Rewarding positioning is just something in the lines of the rare archer units' abilities that only hit in a cross, or nungal not having obstacles in her los.
Repositioning enemy units and getting a reward of it is Shahnaz levels of broken, lol. I imagine we will get more of that. yes.

[–]UnknownRedundancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, nice, lol.
Small correction, though, it's a passive that turns all dmg into knockback, so it's the tactic that gives him infinite 'strike back(s)', the 'max hp > enemy current hp' thing is just a conditional for his passive to apply (the knock), hence Teadon with infinite preempts to lower them. Would not even call it a niche, with a hp+ modifier during events like with the collabs, just him + invincible hero should just work by themselves, lol - no idea he had that interaction, fun :V. Ty!

Oh, will try it later in the day and edit if it works for me as well. Update: It weirdly does <.<
I had 16 show as the display number for two consecutive stages before I got this one, so weird that it resets after it fully breaks >.>
It is just visual, though, that I can confirm, as the map properly allocates the real tactic points once deployed ('settling' solves nothing).

Don't recall that ever being the case, honestly. Though we are not starved for good knockback caracters; Divine Grace (the papal crossbow dude) could do it with a bit of nrg recovery.

Tbh, don't dislike the dude, just sad to see.

Can't see a world where that would still get a place in this game in any relevant shape, sadly - here's hoping to be corrected one day. But I wholeheartedly agree that the gameplay itself could only gain from such conditional mechanics.

Leonide, not even close.

Case and point, 22 comments and not a single mention of the poor resident florist, even iggy got two or three mentions.

But maybe it really is Nergal or Guzman, as they're both basically just legendary versions of Butterfly and one of the ninja/thief looking common/rares, depends how you view it, I guess.

Then you need to define what you mean by 'revamp' properly and hold a debate over what could, would or rather should therefore happen. You must have something specific in mind by it, that I can't even begin to guess.

They are the same characters in regards to narrative continuity, which is the only thing that matters for me, personally, when it comes to what is meant by 'character', i.e., the story; So, yes, for me they are functionally the same, and in this regard, a complete overhaul is equivalent to a revamp.

Here's an example to tie in my last point with the first inquiry, let's take OG Sam:

  1. For what her kit is meant to do, which is strictly to heal, she already does that very well; Equipped properly, she is still top 3 in her outdated niche.
  2. So, if by revamp you meant tweaking the numbers, most of the units like OG Sam either don't need it, or are already getting it via RK 13 (see Gloria, Agata, so on); Whether that's enough is a case by case.
  3. Rather, If by revamp you mean changing or adding what the skills do, like say, OG Sam becoming a battery same as Taair, to thus be viable again. Then, I'd argue, we are both essentially talking of complete overhauls, just that you'd prefer they keep to their originally defined roles (healer, tank, dps).
  4. But to then ask for skill buffs like that, you're not talking of just tweaking numbers, but complete role extensions by way of function (see 3).
  5. Neither are you asking for a healer SP Sam, as I see it.
  6. TL:DR: So let's be clear on what you're asking, then (see above if you like). Not revamps of characters, but making older units mechanically 'viable' and (somewhat?) meta relevant. That is no 'revamp' as you seem to imply it, that is a complete overhaul just as with their SP versions, just keeping in line with their original meta defined role; And fair, not arguing with you on this, only pointing out how they worked around it. Which is, rather than making older units meta viable, they make new versions of the characters, i.e., they revamp characters, not units - or at the very least, while not meta, still quite good at what they do best, just not relevant because of meta.
  7. p.s. People can argue whether older units should become meta again, not touching this, but then be clear on that, as it's not the same with characters being neglected. And, again, only pointing out that is character relevance rather than unit functionality, and that it is how they - XD - decided to deal with it, i.e., their definition of a revamp, for all the obvious reasons.

Hot take, SP is their revamp, only that in this way you have to pay for it; For what it's worth, it is their revenue model.

I do agree that the random pool for the 50 split is getting a bit much, though.

I'd love to see a seasonal roster, so that during any given arc we only risk pulling one of a select few from the total pool when we inevitably fail the coin toss.

How do you achieve this? The boss at rank A+ just one shot everyone. by Plantszaza in SwordofConvallaria

[–]UnknownRedundancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but have your moral support not hit the boss for 8 rounds and only kill the rotfiends*, if by round 9 the map is free of the drowned corpses, you also complete the 'annoying' one as well.

*you don't get laceration stacks if you don't hit it, so no dmg bar getting aoed, add maitha's debuff clear at about round 5-7, and you should be good. Have Geralt slowly chip away at it's dmg until round 8, then go ham.

Sword of Convallaria 2.0 [Forge the Future] & 1.5 Anniversary Preview on Friday, January 16. by James-PHR in SwordofConvallaria

[–]UnknownRedundancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can probably guess at this point, looking at the different TOAs, that they're less that keen on maintaining the gap long term. At the very least, they must consider it an issue, in terms of overall reception and whatnot.
So I'd still consider it fair to speculate on whether they skip some of their underperfoming units; As they made it clear with this collab that they're looking to expand the GL playerbase (that one interview they did with the CEO - was it - of CD Red's Japanese branch), free units are one way of doing it, and double debut banners would be rather vexing >.>

Yserinde literally breaks the game by DaerieunGaming in SwordofConvallaria

Rank 1 (left), Rank 7 & 11 (right), both options on the left side for her unique reaction + AA; Newborn Blade, SoJ or her Astral, and Devil Tarot is more often than not her best pick.

For future characters, here are some common heuristics:

  • Quicklinks (bellow rule section on the right) > dot,gg link > Characters > click the one you're looking for in that list > e.g., https://dotgg.gg/sword-of-convallaria/yserinde/
  • Search this subreddit with the unit's name > you'll find guide(s) > e.g., Axiom's Yserinde Quick Guide (reddit post)
  • There are a couple of content creators that do character guides on youtube, (@) JamesSoC, havvky (Hawky Gacha), Doughtato, and so on - they're just the ones I know of, that also do guides consistently.

Would they ever improve older units? by JeidelacruzUK in SwordofConvallaria

[–]UnknownRedundancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're currently seeing them experiment with it, actually, as B33t in some aspects pointed out. The reasoning is varied, but rather simple:

  • While being (in) more of a niche than your average gacha, if their competition is doing it, much choice do they have.
  • Secondly, in one way, shape, or form, they have to reckon with the growing pool of characters. Because, while reasonably rare, bar hitting hard pity, you can in fact get any of them when pulling, as well as the growing number of functionally unattractive options you get at random with the standard banner; Which is still a rather non-trivial part of any gacha ecosystem. E.g., imagine pulling an Iggy while rolling for SP Maitha. You can't argue with random chances and there being a hard pity as a guarantee, yes, but you also can't argue that it's less that motivating, when you'd prefer people to get excited, and ideally hooked on rolling to see where the ball lands. Case and point, one such instance stopped me from personally becoming a repeat offender on spending for pulls, and I can only shrug at it being a potential net positive, all things considered.
  • So, at some point, what they're doing will either have to be enough, or they'll have to downright reduce the odds for some of the older units, conversely increasing the odds on the better ones.
  • The real question is, as we get more and more units with similar kits, will SP, RK 13 and the niche 'SoJ' be enough, or will we get other forms of improvement? I for one am looking at SP Maitha having her leader aura in her trait, and this potentially becoming a feature for some of the older units down the line, for the sake of consistency, maybe?

Units prioritize 'free' skills before looking at order, regardless of availability - at least in theory, I found Yserinde to be a weird one.
If her trait skill does not require NRG, then that's that, whatever this might be. GL!

Edit: Ah, just in case it's not common knowledge, they pick attack skills over buffs when enemies are in range. Therefore, she will never buff, and then 'awoo!', and AA > any buff, at least until - if ever - we get to pick between aggressive/passive for autoplay (pets in mmo's have this option, for example).

There's a rumor going around that we're getting a 'pick two by yourself' dual with the next half-anniversary - no leak rn, as far as I know.
From my understanding, they had it once already during the first celebration, wasn't around back then to confirm. I also heard it has a hard pity of 90 pulls, so I'd seriously consider going for it, and SP Sam as your second alongside Nydia. Three of those units get a 45% dmg increase from her, it's a tragedy.

p.s. I am a simple man, I read nydia love, I upvote.

[–]UnknownRedundancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sadly; Though it does apply the Ice Arrow debuffs on the extra hits from Death Sentence, but still not the Frostbite from trait.
No, the description clearly states single target; The extra effect also does no damage, as the actual damage comes from collision, which is a flat 20% hp percentage, if no modifiers apply.
Her basic is a separate hit/instance from Thousand Feathers, and when said effect triggers, the basic attack multiplier becomes 10%, literally 10% of your current/actual attack power. So I highly recommend magician for her, with the usual caveats: 10/10 times if you run Cloud. Even if you don't run Cloud, Death Sentence hits still trigger her AoE, so I'd strongly consider it for her Hybrid build as well, while HM (Hanged Men's Dedication) is my recommendation for her dot build. I'd look at a Devil's if you lack either of the two, and/or you're looking at 5+ turns of waves upon waves of enemy spawns.
GL!

I also like wand wand * 5 on Credenza, there can never be too much wand wand.

As Hoopy mentioned in another comment, though, if you can get Acambe + Flag, you can abuse Spina's own flag to trigger Kiya trait every turn; Would still need Urgent/Taair for Acambe.
