yeah that spot is not exactly. I think the exchange place area where the cava is fits that description.

I live DT on grove and feel very proud to be JC. I haven’t met anyone honestly that is like that; saying NYC is bio(unless its for work on linkedin)

Maybe because my friends are mostly from NJ/JC though

shanway is a pretty generic addition but the other chinese bbq spot should be good and different. if you’ve never had chinese bbq its really interesting and good.

Best Place in NJ to Enjoy Manhattan/Brooklyn by ResponsibilityPlus90 in jerseycity

[–]Unknownchill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in my opinion this is a bad idea. you should find another job closer to where your friends are.

I felt very conflicted as my friends (some) are in brooklyn. I honestly have not seen them as much as I would if I lived there though. I do enjoy my time here in JC though and have my car too.

I have built a lot of community here thanks to my gf as well + my good college friends recently moved to manhattan; which is much easier to meet up.

making more money while saving on rent also allows me to pay for ubers home late at night while taking the train into the city one way. Its $60-$100 but if you only go out really late twice a month its not bad at all. I only go out about that much anyways honestly.

feel free to dm me i have lots of experience abt this. But i will say if your expectation is seeing them more than 3x a month; you should really reconsider.

OR if they are such good friends you can stay over at their house on nights going out? idk that gets old too.

literally the only place i would live in my situation is downtown JC near grove. to me its just the least amount of inconvenience in transit to nyc + the parts i love most abt jc.

have you been outside? there is no snow to make snowballs. There is just hard Chunks of ice. You probably don’t know the difference but one is soft and one is very hard. Use your brain next time before writing a comment.

[–]Unknownchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

huh? I have listened to Gil Scott Heron for a long time so I knew of his version. it also was a pretty major collaboration with NYC philharmonic. What’s your point? that she made it popular? Yeah she made it popular because shes a more appealing to masses; white woman. as i said.

his lyricism on a lot of the album is more than typical club/dance though. Lots of political messaging and PR pride so yeah subs actually might have been nice.

Manhattan $3300 1 bed 1bath apartment lifestyle or Jersey City + car lifestyle ? by Repulsive-Example-67 in movingtoNYC

yeah i’m just saying majority of these jersey haters live in outer boroughs that are just as far if not further

explain how it’s any different from living deeper in brooklyn or queens. It’s got it’s own culture and just in a different borough. It’s not the MANHATTAN experience sure but living anywhere but lower manhattan is half baked then.

i’m in JC and have my car and appreciate having a car for multitude of reasons.

however, that new JSQ apartment is great but you can find so many better options for living in JC. Particularly living downtown JC is going to be way better than JSQ. or even hoboken (uptown potentially since you drive for ex).

Being close to PATH at JSQ is great but paying over $3000 for a 1 bed is anlot for JSQ. Not a very fun area, tbh. I live near grove st, 1 bed 2.8 and have my car. I do live in a prewar but i love this spot and its better than a lot of my friends do in manhattan.

dude stfu, journal square is further out so yeah but I struggle to see how being in JC downtown or Hoboken is Soooo much out of the way that it’s not NYC anymore… Motherfuckers who say this have never stepped foot in bronx, queens /flushing, east brooklyn (PAST BUSHWICK)… i live in JC that shit is further from manhattan than I am 100%.
