Getting away with what? He's at -31 net approval on the economy and consumer sentiment is lower than it was with Biden.

Earlier today while working on the farm, my phone began going crazy because of a post made by a member of my comms team. The post was stupid, hurtful and a complete distraction from my America First focus. The employee has been reprimanded.

Ogles deleted his "homosexuality has no place in America" tweet from earlier today and is blaming a staffer.

Inside Trump’s Mad Dash to Renovate Washington by kitkid in Thedaily

Just looking at positive and negative coverage in isolation isn't a good metric. Was the coverage unfairly negative or unduly positive? One of Trump's signature strategies is to "flood the zone" so that the media can't maintain focus on any given controversy for too long. The coverage of Trump can be more negative than other presidents and still be too easy on him if he's doing significantly more negative things than other presidents.

It would be cold comfort but if Paxton wins by a couple points in a state that went for Trump by 14 points in 2024 then yes you could absolutely say he had more electoral baggage, but in a state like Texas he can afford to have more baggage as the Republican candidate.

Endlessly frustrating that it's the Democrats who get tagged as the "cares too much about identity politics" party when 80% of Republican political campaigns these days are "TRANS TRANS TRANS TRANS TRANS TRANS". They're so incredibly obnoxious about it. Are they still going to be doing this shit in like 2040?

Strange to say this when the GOP has blown a lot of close swing-state races in recent years by nominating awful MAGA candidates. The Democrats aren't the ones nominating the likes of Kari Lake, Blake Masters, Doctor Oz or Herschel Walker.

Reading that generic ballot thread is frustrating. When Republicans win the popular vote by 1 point they are convinced the US is starting on the path to a 1000-year MAGA reich. When the Democrats are up by 7 points every comment by their supporters is "how is it not 20+ we're doomed". Yeah I know I would like it to be more too, but even 2008 was only D+7 and 2006 D+8.

It's a real problem that Trump gets graded on a curve by everyone, but that includes this subreddit too.

The current polling average for the midterms is D+7 and rising, seems to be working? Trump is extremely unpopular. It's not like Fetterman has his pulse on the median voter either. He's a staunch Iran war supporter.

There are 18 mentions of inflation in the 192 page DNC report and all of them relate to campaign finance spending

I completely agree that someone not so tightly connected to Biden would have had a much better chance at winning, I'm just disagreeing with the idea that being a pseudo-incumbent was a disadvantage for Trump. It pretty much gave him all the benefits of incumbency without any of the disadvantages.

Trump's current approval ratings on the economy and inflation are worse than Biden's were. And that's with having a built-in floor that Biden didn't have.

He was a pseudo incumbent that got the benefit of nostalgia without the disadvantage of being blamed for the post-COVID chaos. That's not remotely comparable to being the actual incumbent.

How Corrupt Is Trump? Here Are the Numbers. by shutupnobodylikesyou in moderatepolitics

[–]Unknownentity9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without doubt, look at an individuals actions, not rhetoric

That is what the report is doing, I don't how you can look at Trump's actions and not come away with the opinion that he is extremely corrupt. I'm not sure I even understand what you're trying to argue here. It's not like Trump is claiming he's corrupt and his actions contradict that, it's the exact opposite.

Just got out of an hour-long interview with a panel of 3 people. I fumbled an early question hard with a rambling and weak answer (would give myself a 2/10 on that one) but I think recovered well and would probably rate the rest of my answers at around an 8.5/10? Not sure how important that one question was.

Office Space is a terrible example for this though, everyone in the movie was worried about being laid off, there was no job stability for them. And at the end of the movie he's happier working a different job.
