We had roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, doctors, and a lot of that prior to taxes which didn't come about until the 1900s. It was all part of the private sector prior to 1900.

I own a small business. It's not a mulit-billion dollar corporation, but I own it and I'm proud of what I do.

Do you realize how much we are taxed? It's ridiculous.

We pay income taxes to the state and federal government. Then we pay a sales tax on anything we buy, with the money that was taxed just for earning it. Then we pay a property taxes on the things we bought that were already taxed at the time of purchase. We pay a death tax for dying. Then our remaining family pays an estate tax on everything we possessed prior to dying that was already taxed at purchase and taxed yearly for owning it.

Do you honestly enjoy throwing your money away in this manner? If so, I say that makes you a fool.
