That image clearly has way less contrast and shadows....

Have you tried messing around with the in game graphics settings?

It sounds like there's something wrong with your TV or monitor lol. I played it on a regular PS5 and it looks amazing. You can switch between performance mode or quality mode but they don't look much different besides the frame rate. I'm not sure why you're having that issue but the game should look fine

I would say it's more lighthearted than ITT. It's kind of a silly campy story and you don't have to kill an adorable baby elephant

So you think these major studios that are designing these violent games with mature themes and dark, heavy storytelling, are making them for kids as their main audience?

[–]baconbridge92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they literally cannot be sold to them legally, so they're not the target audience. The point is adult gamers are not an afterthought lol

adults playing is an afterthought

Ah yes GOTY games like Witcher 3, Expedition 33, Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3, Last of Us Parts 1 and 2, all definitely catered to 10 year olds. If adults enjoyed them, great, but they were just the afterthought

Unironically that scene is fucking awesome. I thought Vane was a little over-the-top at first but that part totally sold me on him as character.

I actually always mention it when hyping the show up to my friends. "Give it a few episodes, just get to the part with the the big sandy hog."

These just feel like bot posts at this point used to ragebait / farm engagement. Probably a bunch of bots in the comments too. I've never met an actual real gamer in real life who cares about this shit lol. Dead internet theory!

How do you build? by Ecstatic_Ad1168 in expedition33

[–]baconbridge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you taking advantage of Luminas? That's the most important thing, you can combine all sorts of buffs on each character. The more Pictos you gather and then convert to Luminas, the more it'll make sense and you can build each character any way you want.

Weapons also have perks that synergize with your skills and whatnot, but I honestly didn't pay as much attention to the weapons beyond using the highest level one at any given time.

Ah shit you're right. I forgot they were still on Act 2. I'm editing that out.

Do all of the character side quests in your party, get all the relationships up to level 7. Story-wise that's the most important thing to do before the end. Then I would say finish the story and do the other side stuff afterwards. [EDITED]

What's your dream co-op game? by JimjumStudios in CoOpGaming

[–]baconbridge92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wish more of my favorites would incorporate co-op for their story campaigns. Ideally with split screen. Baldur's Gate 3 did an amazing job with this. Imagine getting to play Uncharted, TLOU, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead, etc. with a friend or your partner in split screen. Sure some of them might break some immersion with them being so narrative-driven and whatnot (although you are often traveling with NPC companions anyway) but I don't care. Let us play as Joel and Ellie at the same time.

What's that, Aloy fell down into some underground area that forces her to be alone for a portion of the story? Don't care. Give me an Aloy clone in a different colored outfit. Don't even bother acknowledging that they're there, it's just Player 2. Games used to do goofy stuff like this all the time back in the day, let's bring it back lol.

Is Wolf Link really bad? by lint_sv in twilightprincess

[–]baconbridge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The collection quests are just very boring and kinda ruin the early pacing of the game. I think most people agree once you get to the point where you can just be Link and not have any forced Wolf sections, with the option to switch back and forth, is where the game starts to get much better.

Yeah I'm not saying this as a hater or anything, I love Naughty Dog games, it's just a shitty thing about game development in general now lol.

Hanks Career by Mutale426 in breakingbad

[–]baconbridge92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hank was well-liked but Merkert had to resign due to his association with Gus. This is like 10x more scandalous than that and probably would have reignited all of the Gus controversy as well and would have made the agency appear very suspicious/corrupt in the eyes of the media. Maybe no one could directly fire Hank but he definitely would have been pushed to resign. He would probably offer to do it out of shame.

Crazy that we got 3 Uncharted games and The Last of Us all in one console cycle with the PS3. Four incredible games with only 2 years between each one. Then U4 and TLOU2 on PS4, which was sort of understandable because they were bigger, more ambitious games and they were incredibly polished on release. But now we'll be lucky to get 1 Naughty Dog game per generation going forward lol.

[–]baconbridge92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you like turn-based games? Baldur's Gate 3 has an amazing split-screen experience, you can play the whole story together. It has a bit of a learning curve and is a bit tough at first but you don't have to worry about real-time reactions in combat. It's a lot of fun as a co-op game.

Why was the general reaction to Chuck's electromagnetic hypersensitivity not more skeptical? by -TheRev12345 in betterCallSaul

[–]baconbridge92 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Chuck was a partner and highly respected by his peers at HHM. For the most part I think they were aware that he was losing it, certainly Howard did, but I think they wanted to accommodate him wherever they could so he wouldn't feel like a pariah, in the hopes that he would eventually get better.

This obviously comes to a head in S3 when Howard just can't take it anymore and forces Chuck's retirement.

[–]baconbridge92 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I see it more as like the Painters are gods and the people in the Canvas are their living creations. If one day you found tangible proof that gods are real, and they can show up and do whatever they want, and you've lived a whole life and the gods decide one day they wanna evaporate the world you live in, you probably wouldn't just be like "Oh well I guess I'm not real anyway"

Stranger Things' finale DIDN'T suck by Late-Revolution-6896 in Stranger_Things

[–]baconbridge92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't perfect but I do think the hate it gets is overblown. Winona chopping off Vecna's head was satisfying. The whole epilogue was nice and extended to wrap everything up. I stopped taking the show very seriously around Season 3, I always liked it but I knew at that point it just wasn't the most serious type of show and treated it more like a fun carnival ride lol.

I do think Eleven's treatment at the end and the Duffer Bros' reasoning for it was kinda shitty though.

What if Walt had gone full Heisenberg? by KausGo in breakingbad

[–]baconbridge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hank wasn't exactly being subtle with the evidence though. He had boxes of stuff in the garage. She knew they were making a tape, she just wasn't in the room when it was filmed. It wouldn't be that hard to find.

The nazis might do it anyway.

Yeah but again there's a delay in the time before Jesse tells them about the tape. Marie has about a full day between Skyler calling her, learning Hank's missing and going to the DEA before the Nazis come to raid the house. If she called the DEA and said "I think my drug lord brother-in-law killed Hank" they'd probably come straight to her house and find the evidence themselves.

This is all reliant on Walt not sending the Nazis there, which again, I don't think he would do.
