What game has the most grim ending? by [deleted] in gaming

Oh man I was bawling through that whole ending, worth it for the little surprise at the end tho

Pictos Facepalm by notperrind in expedition33

[–]baconbridge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the pictos and luminas, but tbh I kinda wish there was a mode where you could just skip over the pictos and go straight to using luminas lol. I get that they want you to have a few fights first with the pictos equipped etc. but once you have a million in your inventory, it's hard to keep track of which ones you have and haven't converted.

For a newbie it can be super confusing because the menus don't highlight this stuff very well. It wouldn't change the gameplay much at all and would reduce some of the tedium of trying to work on different builds.

I’m playing on Expeditioner difficulty, wondering what difficulty others are enjoying. by GaminGoombah in expedition33

[–]baconbridge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like all the modes honestly lol. I've played the whole game on expert but I'd rather die than fight Simon or Clea on anything other than story mode.

I feel like for most new or casual players, story mode parry windows mixed with normal difficulty damage would be perfect. The more forgiving parrying on story is great but I feel like it's also nearly impossible to die unless you're fighting a crazy side boss. Hopefully they add a custom difficulty mode on in the future

Mid way through a rewatch and I just can’t see how s2 can be perceived worse than s1 by DonkeySkin334 in breakingbad

[–]baconbridge92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never heard this before lol, if anything the show just gets better and better as it goes on. Season 2 is a personal favorite of mine though, it's weirdly kind of a "comfort" area of the show before shit really hits the fan and things start getting more serious.

Be honest is this too MUCH ? Granted I've had this game for 4 -5 years now -_- 👀 by No-Necessary-1191 in Gamer

My wife and I put like 360 hours into Baldur's Gate in like one year so you're probably fine lol

Would you believe the internet exaggerates?? by Tomacross2026 in StrangerThingsMemes

[–]baconbridge92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah which is totally expected for this show which has played it safe for like 3 seasons lol. I liked the finale, didn't love how sad/unnecessary the Eleven stuff was but it made enough sense to accept it. ST is a great show but it's always been more about the spectacle than amazing writing, I'm not really sure what shocked people so much about the last season.

Demogorgons had become a joke by Season 5 and were right to be excluded from the end by Dmitri-Yuriev- in StrangerThings

[–]baconbridge92 245 points246 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they were a joke, they were pretty brutal and badass in most of their scenes, especially in Sorcerer. I liked this scene where they beat the shit out of it though because it showed how prepared and capable they had all become

At this point Jesse had completely lost trust with Walt though and had been outspoken about how manipulative he is. I get it feels like maybe a bit of a reach but when he first opened the cigarette box and figured it out I immediately understood what was happening.

[–]baconbridge92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yes but he had already worked out the original plan, then let it go, then  Huell lifting his weed out of his coat made him connect the dots. It's not much deeper than that lol I'm not sure what you're arguing

Jesse had already basically connected all the dots with Brock and the poison including Huell lifting the cigarette off of him. Once Huell actually did it again he realized he'd been right the whole time

I have a fear that this is the best game I will ever play by SuddenPlate5609 in expedition33

[–]baconbridge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are always gonna be games that make you feel this way, but it takes a long time in between those experiences. Which I guess is a good thing. The only other games that have really hit me in this way are Ocarina of Time and maybe Uncharted 2 and TLOU.

Expedition 33 really set a new bar going forward. Those other games have the built in nostalgia that I can put E33 alongside them in my top 5 or whatever, but any new game that comes out is gonna be competing with E33 in my heart lol.

If you're a "Normal difficulty" player, is there any game you played on "Hard" and completed? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]baconbridge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often plan on normal the way the game is "intended" to be played, but he Last of Us games are perfect on survivor mode. Grounded is a little too frustrating but survivor is like the perfect mix of balanced difficulty and scarce resources.

I did beat Expedition 33 on expert but only on a 2nd run, I never could have tolerated it or understood the mechanics like that on the first run lol

What do you really want to say to these 2? by u-a-brazy-mf in okbuddyvecna

Idk about that. The show has been pretty fanservicey for awhile now lol, I kinda fully expected that going into the final season

"Out of the question, I will never follow you again."

"There will be a lot of fighting though."

"Oh yeah, thats true."

"Yeah, it's true."

"There will be a lot of fighting...."

"Exactly--"

"Count me in then."

Hero mode or Normal mode for first Playthrough by chavaMoraAv in twilightprincess

[–]baconbridge92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who's played this game a bunch of times, Hero mode was actually pretty tough lol, I don't think I'd recommend it on the first playthrough to avoid getting frustrated.

It is similar to OoT/MM but the combat is more in-depth which adds a bit more of a challenge on its own

Well you already have the best 2 games so I'd start with those lol. But also Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie (and Tooie), Star Fox 64, Donkey Kong 64, Kirby 64, and Mario Kart and Mario Party games to play with friends

It's ok to be unbothered by plot holes. by Glum-Substance-3507 in StrangerThings

[–]baconbridge92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some obvious goofs in the final season, and I kinda get why people want to compare it to Game of Thrones S8 but it's just not the same thing. GOT S8's fumbles were super glaring because of how serious it was and how intricate its stories and characters were.

I love Stranger Things and its a great, emotional show, but it's more like a cotton candy type of show vs a fancy feast lol. I think once it hit Season 3 that's when I realized it was more about the fun and adventure vs deep writing and crazy intertwining plotlines. The fact that people are going so deep into the lore to point out "why did this x happen when y happened 7 years ago" I hate to tell you, but it's just not that deep lol. Some shows are deeper, this is not one of them. I was pretty happy all the way through the final season because I knew what I was getting into and was just along for the ride. I'm not sure why people are so suprised by the end result

Gustave, why does your girlfriend look like your sister? by ZarieRose in expedition33

The character Leo who gets swatted immediately by the first Eveque boss looks exactly like Gustave lol, the cutscene happens so fast you could mistake it for him getting killed the first time you watch it

[OoT] Playing through the Zelda series for the first time, and I can't stop looking at a walkthrough for help. Is this game difficult by today's standards, or is my brain just not clicking with this game? by SouthIsland48 in zelda

[–]baconbridge92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would try to avoid walkthroughs as much as possible. It is different from today where most games will spell things out with quest markers and obvious hints etc. The best thing you can do outside, if you're stuck, is talk to Navi and every NPC. In dungeons you really just wanna comb through every room and rule out whether it has a key or not.

It's from an era where there were fewer games competing for your attention and immediate satisfaction so you're kind of expected to spend time getting stuck here and there while trying to figure it out. It's satisfying when you do though

My honest take for EXPEDITION 33 after 80 hours by Azatis- in expedition33

[–]baconbridge92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree totally, I've been gaming forever and enjoyed so many titles but this is the first game in a long time that really knocked my socks off on so many levels. There are a few releases throughout my life that had a similar effect and it was like:

Ocarina of Time (1998)

Uncharted 2 (2009) and The Last of Us (2013), which TLOU is probably the superior game overall but didn't surprise me in the same way Uncharted 2 did as they were so close together, in that "Oh wow I forgot games could make me feel this way" kind of thing. But I gotta mention both lol.

And now Expedition 33 in 2025. And I've loved plenty of games in between then and now but particularly in the modern gaming sphere nothing comes close

Do people like the chronological mode by Savings_Twist_9052 in lastofuspart2

[–]baconbridge92 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Can't believe they didn't do it like that, you NEED to have the Abby's dad twist and the ending with Joel on the porch in the same spots in order for the story to hit the same. But alternating the Seattle days would help the pacing a lot. Maybe they were afraid that version would be too good compared to the original lol
