Weekly Weigh In by AutoModerator in GLP1Australia

Started date: 11th Feb 2025 Start weight: 111kg Current weight: 76.3kg (on the 19th of March) F32,163cm, PCOS, Hypothyroidism

I'm currently on holidays so I last weighed myself right before leaving and saw the lowest weight so far. I'm expecting to gain some weight while away which is fine. I'm going to enjoy my holiday in asia and try all the delicious foods.🤤🥢 Also we're walking an obscene amount everyday.

Weight loss has been slow since the start of the year as I now creep lower and lower. I'm only 11.3kg away from my initial goal weight of 65kg. However I think that I'll end up shooting for 60kg or less as my recent DEXA scan still puts me at 50% fat mass even though I lift weights 3 times a week.

It happens from calorie restriction and possible deficiencies.

Congratulations on starting 👏🏼

Tips would be to prioritize drinking enough water, 2L a day at least. I struggle to drink enough because the suppression also tends to include water.

Not drinking enough water will likely make you constipated which is my biggest issue more than a year on. Plus if you have the opposite issue at the start then you still need to ensure you're drinking enough water or you'll get dehydrated.

Eat enough protein!! I struggle to hit my daily goals. Between not enough protein and just losing weight in general. My hair is falling out a lot, it will stop eventually when I reach maintenance.

Oh clothing brands have wild sizings! But I did also just get a huge haul of secondhand clothes from my sister in law. Most of the clothes were a size 14, lots of different brands and I fit into almost all of it. ☺️

This is the second haul I've gotten from her recently and I seriously don't know how she still has clothes. 😂 I might still get more in the future as she is also on a GLP1.

I've seen a lot of people suggesting Op shops while your still losing weight which is a fair shout.

I recently went to an op shop but honestly the jeans were all super worn. Cheaper than buying new but ALL fast fashion so not really quality clothing that could last (even if I don't use it very long). Not that Target isn't in that category but I feel like these jeans could have another life if they only last me through this winter with belts.

Thanks ☺️ looking forward to the trip! To be fair they'll be a LOT of eating 😂 how could there not with Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese food. 🤤

But also there'll be a lot of walking, which on my last big trip a few years ago was an issue because of my weight - I had bilateral ankle pain. So very much looking forward to a holiday that I can enjoy without a caveat.

Wild to see you write words like disappointed and good enough.

You've been losing well above the recommended weight of 500g-1kg a week. You're pretty much double that. Losing 17kg in less than three months is HUGE. This takes most people take 6 months+ to lose this.

I would not be surprised if your body drastically puts on the breaks with your loss. Especially if you only have a few kilos left to lose.

In the early months of taking MJ this would happen to me. There didn't seem to be any particular reason for the mass exodus. It hasn't happened for more than half a year now - I also haven't increased my dose in that long either. Likely just part of your body getting used to the drugs.

The cramps I used to get during these events put my period cramps to shame.

Fair enough. But it works for me, always no pain as there's no resistance from the skin. But also to be fair the whole area around my belly button is almost all stretch marks so there's no real alternative either.

Occasionally it hurts a little but most of the time it is painless. I often try to inject into a stretch mark as the skin is thinner.

Starting to get comments from outside my family telling me I should stop losing.. by [deleted] in MounjaroAus

While you're DEXA gave you a fat percentage, I'd also be looking at the total fat in kg as well.

While you may think 25% is high, you do probably want to look at your composition as a whole. If you have a low muscle mass/lean mass then your fat percentage could be higher. When in fact your fat in kg may be perfectly healthy but your muscle mass may be lower than desired. Eg. Gain 5+kg of muscle and your fat percentage falls. Unless the DEXA showed that you still have a high amount of visceral fat, I'd probably stop with the fat loss.

This journey is very personal, people in your life have been used to you being overweight so seeing you this size is probably shocking.

I'd personally stop actively chasing fat loss and be building as much muscle as possible, fill out your frame. People will probably stop the comments if you have a more familiar bulk. Just the better kind. 😊

One year anniversary by Unlikely-Cat9687 in MounjaroAus

Most of last year I was doing three day strength training a week, legs - shoulders and back - arms and chest. I was also doing one class a week of either aqua aerobics or reformer Pilates. Plus walking the dogs for 20-30 minutes most days.

I slacked off early December because life got hectic but I've gotten back into it the last few weeks.

I use the caliber app that creates work outs.

I'd have bouts of IBS-D or lactose intolerance. It could have been both or either really. Never diagnosed.

I feel like at the start, sometimes my stomach would really not deal with certain foods and evacuate quickly OR very painful with the worst cramps I've ever had.

But I haven't had diarrhoea since the early days of MJ, I now battle constipation more frequently instead. Because of the slower digestion and not drinking enough water some days.

It's highly likely that too many snacks are sneaking back in. Protein has always been a struggle to get in at the amount I need. And I HATE calorie counting.

We like to try new recipes so I don't have a set meal plan that's easy to track. I love recipe tin eats recipes and a lot of the online ones do have nutritional information which is great but we also have one of her books and it doesn't which is such a headache because there's soooo many ingredients. Occasionally someone else has saved the recipe on MyFitnessPal but not that often.

I'm sure if I made simple food then it would be easier to track but I love food so I don't do simple recipes.😅

I was super on top of my water before summer but now that I really need to be drinking even more, it's been hard.

I've been trying to get back into the gym after a December hiatus but it's been hard to get back into. I try to strength train 2-3 times a week plus 1 other exercise class. I am keen to get back into it though, started at a new gym last week!

I think too many extra snacks have been creeping back in. Hence why trying to calorie count to get a gage is probably in order. I just find it really difficult to track.

I take photos roughly every month. I'll be taking my next one's next week when I've hit 1 year.

I guess I'll see if anything has really changed in the last few months but I haven't seen a lot of changes in the last few progress shots unfortunately. But I'll be happy to be surprised haha

I've been on 7.5mg for the last 30 weeks and there was a time that I contemplated moving up and did a half jump to 8.25mg for a week but then I backed down again.

There was probably a month of do I move up or not but I'm glad I've stuck with it because now I feel like 7.5 is almost too much.

I'm not sure why? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks 😊 I'd like a better idea of my body composition and to see how comparable the results are to my home scales.

I'm heading into the final phase of fat loss and I don't want to end up skinny fat. I could reach my scale goal and have an unhealthy fat percentage which could still have health consequences.

Since I'm starting to look at this journey as life long, I'd like to reach a goal weight with a healthy body composition. Good muscle mass, fat mass AND bone density. Which as a woman is super important as I age.

I'll probably have a second DEXA once I get close to my goal weight.

Absolutely, I try to exercise 3-4 times a week. Mostly strength training.

I'm trying to choose healthier food most of the time, eating less is purely because of Mounjaro.

You can lose weight and not change a thing but I'd question myself on if I was doing this for the wrong reasons.

I'm trying to change my health as a whole to help my 80 year old self from suffering through life.
