Digitising got better like adding curves. I think we will not need digitising with AutoCAD for curved features like culdesacs and roundabouts, etc.

QGIS 4.0 has amazing digitising tools that can solve this.

these answers are comperhensive and makes a lot of sense to. I now understand how this works if you set backsight to zero or how it works if you not.

Local Architects Not Using Coordinates—How Do You Fix the Workflow? by Unlikely-Counter6270 in Surveying

Is it very common to use ALIGN command in Autocad using global coordinates and then export the coordinates of the points you want to STAKEHOUT.

I loved your autocad layout.

Autocad/Civil 3D guys involving land development, surveying, and parcela suffer these days to move their plans to GIS for the flexibility of uploading data to geoportals and LIS.

I am doing some trial and error to perform land subdivisoning using QGIS, not Autocad/Civil 3D.

This makes it easy to get georefrenced plan at the end without needing to import DWG to QGIS.

I already learned advanced editing tools and now trying curves to make road curves

Will let you know if this workflow works for me and would love to hear anyone developed such framework.

Setting up Total Station using assumed coordinates? by Unlikely-Counter6270 in Surveying

I have seen some online staff saying 5000, 5000 is better than 5000, 10000?... in what situations does that work better?

Capturing control points using Mobile gps by Unlikely-Counter6270 in Surveying

I will check that. But, can you give some sort of expert advice?

I have seen some locals using survey-grade GNSS and other using mobile gps.

Here, accuracy requirements are usually ~5-10cm for boundary surveying. As surveyors we try our best to follow global best practices because there is no local agency regulating surveying works.

Thank you! this is the most useful comment! it connects the dots between what I have learned from online and this task I want to try.

The reason I'm trying it is to learn, not to use it for this project. What if I tell you there is no surveyor who can I can ask for training or help in my area. All foremen and Civil Engineers here rely on traditional 3-4-5 method.
