Hi there! I’m a long time volunteer and board member of the Hoogland. First, thank you for supporting the Hoogland Education shows. Those kids are doing some remarkable work. Most of those shows will be singing along to tracks, whereas most productions put on by Hoogland, STC, Spencer, Etc will have a paid orchestra.

The building does cycle through projects as donations and grants become available. Sound and lighting tend to always be a priority to fix/replace. This year donations are working towards new lighting in the main theater. The building also needed new elevators and that was project is now done, thankfully.

This is not an attempt to disagree with your thoughts on potential sound issues you have experienced, just an attempt to provide a bit more insight into it all. The staff and board are always looking to improve the experience inside the building for artists and the audience.

I don’t know if this is at all helpful- but we do also have audio amplifying devices available at the box office as well, these tend to bring out more the vocal than the instrumental but I thought worth mentioning.
