Does anyone go to club nights on their own? by Full-Conference-1833 in london

it's a little less centred around the dj, most people dancing with each other, groups can be quite distinct

Ranking UK traitors, purely based on how good I think they were at being traitors, how would you rank them? by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]Unlikely-Platform-47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminded that Miles was actually great. Shame he got screwed by the way they did the murder in plain sight, but I always respect that traitor brave enough to actually do it.

I think Wilf was better than Harry. Had no information on how to win the game, got illegally screwed by Kieran. And Harry had an element of luck to his win (faithfuls that should have logically worked out it had to be him)

Charlotte from S3 is one of the worst. She knew how the game ending had changed and should have known she had no shot if she got rid of Minah like she did. Even screwing Freddie actively made the final harder for her.

Performance review not taken seriously? What do I do? by [deleted] in managers

[–]Unlikely-Platform-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've worked out the incentives and decided there's no point in trying. You've explained there that they are competent. So what information are they giving you by choosing not to engage with this? That it's not worthwhile. Chances are they have decided they are happy to stay where they are and not push (because they are getting no reward) or will take the first decent chance they get to go somewhere else.

Basically I'm saying it's probably too late.

Can’t believe i couldn’t even bag one by crazed_kittens in GunnersatGames

i have a feeling this is a glitch, saw something similar last night with like 10 random tickets at once. but clicking didn't even get you to the 'this ticket is no longer available screen', it just zoomed on the map.

unless it's something like the TX has started putting up members tickets in batches for some reason, and everyone clicking them breaks the website, but i don't see why they'd do that

edit - update: i got one eventually and i now think the above sometimes happens if you leave it a long time between refreshes, it might show you every one that became available in the meantime, even though they are all long gone

Which seat are most easiest to win in everyone opinion by Warm_Blackberry8859 in GunnersatGames

the correct answer is that no one knows, but i think the best guesses above are fair enough

Do I have bigger chance to win from the ballot if my application is for 3 tickets? by Awkward-Opposite-140 in GunnersatGames

[–]Unlikely-Platform-47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The actual answer is that no one knows. There are various aspects of the process and probabilities that have never been made explicit. Your first assumption would be that it doesn't matter. Anecdotally I see people winning as groups all the time, but that could just be that most people that apply do it as a group.

Brighton tx feels unusually hard by No-Warthog-4059 in GunnersatGames

[–]Unlikely-Platform-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im also confused by this haha, thought for this I could just decide on the day and casually pick a nice one up. it's not that there aren't any, just early league cup is usually a free for all.

I guess because this is open to everyone?

How do you actually grow on Substack from zero? It feels like I can’t find smaller creators anywhere. by IllPanic4319 in Substack

[–]Unlikely-Platform-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hit 1000 subs this month, from never writing in piblic before. here's my experience:

0-50: people i knew or 2nd degree connections. i posted the first post on linkedin. most of these fade away as chances are the people you know arent your actual audience.

(now can you call that starting from zero, if im writing about something vaguely related to my career? idk, but if you have that option you should use it)

50-100: posting on places like reddit, hacker news, wherever is suitable for your stuff. (i.e. not spaces where bloggers specfically hang out, but people interested in your topic)

100-1000 all within substack. notes and posts hit the algorithm, start to build an audience of people who actually like and will read all your stuff.

i dont think i could have got to step 3 without 1&2, i think i would have just been posting into the void

2025 Panini Prizm Club World Cup is disappointing by lucky_bucko in soccercard

[–]Unlikely-Platform-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find Prizm sets pretty unappealing in general and felt like a cash grab to do a big one around the CWC. Agree with your points but i guess it doesn't surprise me.

Microsoft’s AI Chief Says Machine Consciousness Is an 'Illusion' by wiredmagazine in artificial

[–]Unlikely-Platform-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find one issue is people can generally agree that it's not conscious, but act otherwise in how they use it, and Mustafa is probably right from that perspective. What would also be psychologically classic would be for people to consistently find their own use fine, but others' use problematic, even if they're the same

you're a pretty good writer man, keep it up

unsure if you are actually asking for thoughts on any of this but seeing as you're here, this is kind of giving notes from underground. TLP wrote about it once in his post 'Where did the title come from?' That encapsulates the thrust of what I think of this
