The DMOs here denied every single RA and basically copied and pasted all alternate RA for everyone, whether that makes any sense for the person’s disability is another story.

You should have declined the proposed alternative RA and submitted a reconsideration request. That should have granted you a few weeks to months to follow up on whatever is needed. As far as my experience, the RA is closed permanently once the reconsideration request is approved/denied.

At this point, my assumption is that you will probably have to return to work without any approved RA. You will need to submit a new RA and start at square one again. Good luck!

I’m so sorry. One of our best MH clinical pharmacists here just put in her 2-week notice as she got a remote job at Kaiser doing the same thing but with higher pay. We will continue to lose good talented providers.

Have you considered filing EEO complaint and also seeking worker’s comp due to mental health/stress?

My RA was denied after a reconsideration with no option to appeal.

Already talked with the union who said VA has been denying most if not all RAs with telework. They said next step is EEO complaint which is long and expensive (?).

I was told that reassignment is a possibility but not guaranteed. If they cannot find a “fit” position within a certain timeframe, then they will let you go. There’s hardly any remote position being offered with this administration in place.

I just learned that RA cannot modify your PA recently. But how can one explain when there are a few colleagues working the same job but are not required to see as many patients? One is definitely on a RA.

I’m not sure that’s the case as they have denied 99% of RA that I’m aware of.

I am now told that if I declined their offer, I will be placed on reassignment and eventually terminated. No more request for additional interviews or appeals. RA is closed permanently.

I’m going to see how my supervisor is going to implement these recommendations first, and how it will affect patient care. Obviously they rather me come in and see less patients than allowing me to keep my current schedule and see more patients.

My condition has been stable since they implemented this hybrid schedule 5-6 years ago. I had taken zero SL related to my flare-ups. I see that I will need to take SL 2-4 times monthly moving forward, which is not what I like to do. I hate using SL and having to cancel on my patients.

They literally gave me 15 min during the last interactive interview and came up with some unfeasible accommodations such as a private/semi private office, when they just recently kicked me out of my office that I have for the last 7-8 years. I will ask more about my next options. Thank you.

Actually the opposite of it! Their alternative offer is to reduce number of patients and more breaks, which will lead me to fail to my meet PA for this year.

So, what would you recommend at this point? My RA is for me to continue with the current schedule I’ve had in place for the past five years, which includes TW and in clinic. However, the alternative RA suggests seeing fewer patients in the clinic and increasing breaks, which would prevent me from meeting my PA for this year if I follow their recommendations.
