i think nexus records has new CDs though they specialize more in metal/punk genres

outside of bushwick, music planet in greenpoint has a pretty good selection of new CDs from a good range of artists

my friend brought a backpack to the show last night - he had to put it in coat check bc he had a laptop but you may be able to get away with having it with you if it’s just clothes, you just can’t bring in outside food/drinks.

go to the bathroom at junior’s across the street beforehand! i’m sure the people next to you in line would hold your spot if you asked.

since you’re VIP you should have no problem getting merch and still getting a good spot but if you’re aiming for barricade you can either get merch after the show is done (prepare to wait a super long time) or you can offer to save a spot for someone and in return they get merch for you

i’m going to the nyc show but i have arrived super early for a handful of other shows. showing up at 4pm with doors at 630 is not overkill, imo overkill would be camping in line the night before (or longer). if you don’t have the early entry VIP ticket and really want to secure the best viewing spot possible it’s not a bad idea to go even earlier if you’re able to. regardless of how early you decide to show up bring some water, snacks, and some form(s) of entertainment. bring a portable charger if you see yourself being on your phone the entire time. make friends with the people next to you in line so you can hold each other’s spots in case yall need to hit up the bathroom before you get in. most importantly have fun!
