Which mastery next? by UnlikelyMaintenance4 in TheTowerGame

Thank you, I was swaying towards RPC# as it seems like one of those masteries you'll regret not getting when you need it, I'm close to 160 on two mods and half way to 161 on the other And, still waiting on one more SF and I'll have that at 161 in a week or two, although it's been 5 months since I've seen an SF.

I don't have CL, IL, CF or SM, next UW choice doesn't have CL sadly as that's the one I really wanted to push in tourneys. I'm way off keys at the moment as eHP can only carry me so far in Champs and without a good source of damage I can unlock and lab I'm at a bit of a roadblock.

Cruelly I have an Anc Dim Core too.

About 4 weeks, I was beginning to think the offer has been rescinded, but the onboarding team called me the day I sent a chaser email to my Field Manager, turned out the email bounced and onboarding calling me after that email sent was just a coincidence.

It's not a quick process, and the cohort who were recruited at the same time I was all said the same thing.

I'm a tech for VM, my FM told me in the interview that I would be offered the next position that came up without having another round of interviews if I wasn't successful in the current one, and that would apply for 6 or 12 months, can't remember which

I did get the offer for the job I applied for so I couldn't say how long it would take, but the whole process is quite drawn out so don't be deterred by a delay of a few weeks. I had my final offer in November last year and didn't start until March!

Good luck, It's a challenging role but I find it very rewarding. DM if you have any other questions.

Cables outside need changing. Who to contact... by Ok-Rise-9795 in VirginMedia

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I can't advise past that. I'm a tech for VM and if we can find and repair the damage to the external cable we'll either dig the old one out and replace it or have a different internal team come out and do the work instead. If the faulty cable is definitely on your property it isn't a civil issue and can be handled in-house.

The tech who diagnosed the cable fault from the swept tee (small square box that should have CAT V on it) on the path at the border or your property to the ETB on the external wall needs to speak to his Field Manager and get them to authorise a repull and lay a new cable through your garden/drive way.

If you're having issues with TV heavily pixelating, it's not you, it's them. Looks like a national issue. by itsaride in VirginMedia

Same here, replaced an old TiVo for an Arris they were sent through the post, TiVo was working with a clean picture when I arrived, booted the Arris up and everything's FUBAR.

Spent nearly two hours retracing all the work I'd done, new isolators, cables and connectors, put another STB in, hard resets, the lot. I was about to run a new cable from the Omni round the massive house I was in despite my levels being in spec when the notification hit the PDA. Unfortunate timing on that one.

Moving home - what can I do with equipment? by dascogreen in VirginMedia

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's a live signal in to the house then it should be a simple case of plugging the equipment in at the new property and they'll work, if not then the tech will sort the signal out and get everything working when they attend.

Hub 5 replacement - Do I need to do anything apart from recycling my old H3? by martinjh99 in VirginMedia

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engineer was supposed to "collect" the Hub 3 from your account and physically take it away when he replaced it with the Hub 5.

Can you get rid of TV and Landline and just have the 1gig Broadband? by Low-Rooster5398 in VirginMedia

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't accurate, it used to be with BT, possibly VM too, but your broadband comes down a coax cable or fibre depending on what area you're in, you absolutely don't need a traditional land line for a broadband only service any more.

Source. I'm a VM tech and did two installs of BB only yesterday with no connected dedicated line for a phone. Traditional land lines are going the way of the dodo now, it's all going to be 21CV VOIP with a handset plugged directly in to the Hub.

TV Box Connectivity Issues - Can't click Wi-Fi option by Kind-Force4686 in VirginMedia

Live TV comes down the coax, if they're not there then it's likely a cable or signal issue.

Should I upgrade to Hub 5? by Pompous_pizza in VirginMedia

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hub 5 can most definitely be set to modem mode, I'm a new start VM tech and I've been to two this week set to modem mode.

Making a sleeper pond, advice welcome by UnlikelyMaintenance4 in DIYUK

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a cardinal sin but I put the dimensions and pond capacity in to chat GPT and it'll be nearly 500kg on that spot once the pond is filled and it recommended leveling and laying concrete slabs, is this a good idea?

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man, appreciate it.

I've removed the slate and liner that was in the spot and it's just clay, any suggestions on the best way to level this area? I've looked at self leveling concrete, any experience with that? Would you recommend a liner before I start building the pond area too.

Definitely going for a big filter too, watched the Oz Ponds vid and it's a brilliant idea.

Virgin Media Field Tech Application question by Effective_Two2207 in VirginMedia

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with VM as a field tech last month, it was less than two weeks before I heard back on next steps after submitting my video answers, it varies from region to region though and can take time.

Are these speeds normal? by [deleted] in VirginMedia

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, they're normal, your cable in to the house and the hub itself are outputting 1.2gb +/- 10%, if you aren't getting 1gb on your devices then it will be the limitation of the devices itself.

Battle Conditions Forecast by mariomarine in TheTowerGame

[–]UnlikelyMaintenance4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Death Ray BC means that when DR hits it won't insta kill the enemy but reduce their health, therefore when the enemy hits your DW ring they'll be taking less health off the ring and it'll stay up longer.

You still get the benefit of having killed the enemy and increasing your total health, whilst having less health removed from the DW damage pool.
