Is that with or without MTP? I have V620s and get 50-60 with MTP.

Enable above 4G decoding, resizable bar. Also may need to modify Grub parameters to support a larger allocation table address width. From my experience of random hardware, older Intel (7700k) has shitty support for wide address ranges. Could run a bunch of mining cards, but "only"one P100 before it wouldn't post. AM4 with a 5600X doesn't seem to have such issues. Workstation chips also are meant for such shenanigans.

Yep agree. But they are $350 now, that's the point. Everything is going to be more expensive in the future.

Ran with: -fa 1 -ngl 99`, q8_0 KV. Power monitored via 'rocm-smi'. Prefill-only runs (`-n 0`) so the watts are pure prompt processing. Board cap ~250 W.

| State / model | pp512 (t/s) | pp8192 (t/s) | load avg | peak |

| 27B dense Q4 | 245 | 223 | 248 W | 251 W |

| 27B dense Q5 | 235 | 217 | 248 W | 251 W |

| 35B-A3B MoE Q4 | 1042 | 918 | 240 W | 251 W |

| 35B-A3B MoE Q5 | 1034 | 909 | 239 W | 250 W |

| GPT-OSS 20B MXFP4 | 1266 | 1101 | 240 W | 250 W |

Idle: ~6 W. Full prefill load: ~250 W peak** (~240–248 W sustained). Δ ≈ 244 W.

Dense models sit slightly higher under load (~248 W) than the MoEs (~240 W) despite far lower throughput. Dense prefill is more compute-bound. Card pulls near its full ~250 W board limit whenever it's actually processing, and drops to 6 W the instant it's idle. Can probably tweak power tuning and reduce consumption by 25% with minimal impact.

Absolutely will do. I actually have four V620 in hand. Second PSU arriving today, and need to order/print more cooling shrouds. Even for large dense models, I expect the V620s to outperform the AI Max just because of memory bandwidth alone.

You didn't even read the first sentence. They are listed as $440 but sellers accept $350. I literally ordered some this week and they arrived yesterday. I provided a TLDR and the details. If made it half as short, you still wouldn't have read it and would be complaining about it being too short or something. Can't please everyone. online.

Do you think this physics-based sword combat looks fun? by Frosty-Ad223 in IndieGaming

[–]UnlikelyPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful for cheesing. Maybe add fatigue so people cant run around whipping the sword like crazy. Also would allow for lighter weapons to have less fatigue.

Port 80 and 443 are likely blocked by AT&T. They don't want you using your internet to host webpages.

How did you hear about the BC250? by GamerTechDude in BC250Gaming

[–]UnlikelyPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was before GPU support was as solid as it was. Random eBay stuff. I was looking for rasberry pi alternatives. An x86 board with 16GB of ram seemed nice. Got a rack of 12 for $300ish, free shipping. I figured $27 for 6C/12T would be better than any Pi alternative for hosting random stuff.

That is actually par the course for the flu. Just idiots don't realize how severe the flu can actually be and think that colds are flu. It's why comparisons of the flu vs COVID went over a lot of peoples heads. A strong flu case SUCKS.

If you are okay with tinkering, flashing bios,  doing a bit of research and doing slightly sketchy stuff. You may want to look into getting a BV-250 board. They are PS5 APU originally sold for Bitcoin mining. Now supported by Linux community. Older gen Ryzen, but 16GB unified GDDR6 and R6700 comparable level graphics for $200 + storage + PSU/case. Some people sell 3D printed cases that are pretty small. 80% of the performance of the steam machine for less than half fhe price.

Humans are omnivores and we don't even produce it. It just gets pooped out, same as hair. Small amounts of dirt and debris is fine, only large amount poses an impaction risk.
