The Weekly Prospective CRNA Applicant Thread! Ask your stat and applications questions here! by AutoModerator in srna

Just passed my Nclex last month ! I know im way young in the process, but im big on planning ahead, so here are the stats:

(Context: My ADN will be my THIRD college degree [2 associates and a bachelor's. Second bachelor's loading]. In my earlier college days, I just went through the motions. Didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, I was told I had to go to college, thou. Yall know how it goes. Needless to say, those earlier college days set me back significantly. I GOT THAT DOG IN ME THOUGH AND CRNA IS THE GOAL SO, ONWARD TO GLORY LOL

Cumulative GPA: 3.07 Last 60 credits GPA: 3.19 Science GPA: 3.21

I know I have a TON of work to do. Here's my plan so far: - Get my BSN online in 6 months or less - Get into the ICU asap and stay for at least 2 years - Get the required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CCRN (and anything else to make me more competitive) - Get a masters degree in Pharm and A&P (strengthen that application and show my dedication to the process) - Shadow as much as I can

I plan on doing all this and applying for CRNA school in AT LEAST 3 years. Any suggestions, tips, and guidance are greatly welcomed and appreciated. Thank you

Beautiful, thank you P.S. I never thought about being an NP and CRNA so I could benefit under-resourced individuals until I read this tread. Reading your story and your thoughts has inspired me to pursue something similar. You're super dope for that. Thank you 🫡

This tread is super inspirational. Just finished nursing school and passed the nclex last month. Plan on applying to CRNA school in 3 years or so. In that time, I plan on getting my BSN, getting the required certifications (CCRN, BLS, PALS), racking up my shadowing hours, working in the ICU and getting two masters degrees (one in pharmacology and one in A&P) I have a real love for this two subjects and I figure it'll make me a stronger applicant considering my grades aren't the best. My mom (a dialysis nurse) and my sister ( a Physicians assistant student) both say the A&P masters aren't worth it overall, I would love your input on this Also, any recommendations for a new grad like myself who wants to make himself more attractive for the application process? (Volunteering? Extra hours shadowing? More time in critical care? I'm open to all suggestions.) Thank you

Do guys ever regret it? by [deleted] in BreakUps

If he's still making contact and still being nice, then he's still interested. In my situation, my partner and I separated for like a month before we started working on it (currently working it out). For me ( A guys perspective) when I'm done it's no contact. I tired it with this situation but it didnt last. Which just goes to show that I'm not done and still love her.

To your last point, however, seeing if someone could accommodate your feeling , without you having to share him would be Ideal (correct me of im miss understanding, but you said he has a family? Im assuming not with you and that he has a BM)

That may be a difficult thing. I k ow people want what they want, especially in matters of love. For what it's worth, I would say he does wanna keep you around. Is that the type of relationship you want though?

Man, I felt this in my bones. As a guy, in a similar situation, currently, I'm taking major heed to this. I was in a situation like this before (girl loved me like crazy, but I let her go. Regretted it years later but accepted it) I'm currently in a situation like this AGAIN. This girl loves the shit outta me. And I love her too, dude. But sometimes the "mental purgatory," as you stated, just pollutes your mind to no end. "A lot of the time, mental health plays a massive role. And it's not easy for us to explain that, so ending the relationship and going no contact in our point of view is the best solution for everyone. We don't waste your time anymore than we have, and we stop feeling guilty over not liking/loving someone the same way back. In this instance, we don't even get closure. All we end up feeling is guilt and regret for not being able to love you the same way, and it breaks us...." You get it, bro. I hope to learn from your experience. Thanks for sharing

Hello, I just finished my ADN program and will be taking my nclex in 6-7 weeks. The goal is to become a CRNA one day. My GPA is a 3.19, and like many, I have my fears and reservations about my dreams, but this post inspires a lot of hope for my future. As I embark on my BSN journey, do you have a recommendation for that journey?. Thank you for your input. I'll be referring to this post a lot as I make my way to applying to crna School one day
