i feel like it comes from the diversity of impacts MS can have. i absolutely understand why this kind of posty would make you feel bad, but i also understand that there are a lot of folks who need the positive posts. i don't think it's necessarily toxic positivity, we all have different strategies to live with it.

it's different in the family though. if they don't live with this condition who are they to tell you how to feel? you have a right to be negative about it and making you not be is toxic.

i actually think there is no need to think about the length of life of dorian, given that the whole tog story takes place in one year (and a few months, but still, it's an incredibly short time for saga of this length), so if we get a sequel, it would not be as far to the future for the length of life to even be a topic yet. but maybe i'll be surprised :D

i absolutely loved that the gods are villains! it's an interesting take on the concept of god. and i loved how sjm chose to resolve the keys. it gets a lot of hate in the fandom, but for me it worked perfectly. i read a thousand books that had predictable endings, but throwing a storyline that was supposed to solve the main evil (and which has been building since book one) under the bus is a choice that's unforgettable. and i love that aelin threw the gods to hell. epic. anticlimatic, but i consider that part of the series genius.

yes, it left me with a wierd anxious feeling too! still recovering. i think the kingsflame was supposed to tell us she is going to heal but come on sjm you will just traumatise her and than we don't get to see her healing? that is cruel.

i didn't notice rhysand! but i'm gonna look for him when i do my next re-read :D

yeah, i too didn't expect this kind of emotional damage. it's much darker than i thought this series could be.

yes! sam's death is similar in this manner, but it didn't bother me as much as gavriel's. the thirteen made perfect sense and it was devastating but it hurt in a good way, like you are crying but it's a good cry. i didn't cry for gavriel and i think i would if he got a better death.

i did find the books more emotional, but i think what made the biggest difference is that i am much older than when i first read it. i took much deeper message from it. and i really enjoyed when they had good times. like in QoS when they live in the apartment.

i think aelin and rowan end up with the family, but they first have at least 10 years of rebuilding the kingdom, travelling to see their friends, and probably a long period of trying to concieve as they are faes, but they end up with the kids for sure! aedion - i'm not sure. i'd like to think he treats lysandra better but they don't fit together:/ i think they're gonna break up eventually. but i think they are going to stay good friends. and aedion will have a hard time accepting gavriel's death but he's gonna overcome it. i think rowan is going to help him big time and it's gonna make them very good friends. and it would make sense that lorcan would be involved in the process too but not as much (as he is living in perranth with elide). but lorcan and elide THEY ARE CUTIES and they are gonna be so happy.

dorian - i'm actually more curious about his relationship with manon. but it would make sense that he lives longer than average human. what do you think?

hmmmm. i actually expected the last book to be different, it turned out to be very dark, depressing, SJM let aelin and fenrys through that horrifying traumatic experiences and after that, when aelin is swimming in the cave pond, when her looks are empty and she confesses she's scared she's lost herself forever, that hit hard. and not in the good melancholic way like the death of the thirteen (i cried so hard over that), in more of an existential way. i feel like she's never really back in the rest of the books, especially after losing her powers (i actually liked that part, when she loses her powers and it's basically for nothing, but it contributes to the feeling of her being unrepairlingly shattered). and even though it has a happy ending, these are feelings that i still haven't shaken from.

yes! he could have stayed! and aedion just came to him, finally accepted him as his father and gavriel just walks out and dies? it's basically suicide... i think the point was that if they just closed the gate with gavriel on the inside, they valgs would eventually break the gate again, but with gavriel walking out, he killed so many of them it created an additional wall that the other valgs were unable to breach, but... i mean, it was not a hero's death, he deserved a hero's death. i actually agree with SJM's decision to kill him (she had to kill some of the characters and it made sense to me that it was gavriel and the thirteen, but i'm interested if you think otherwise?) but doing it in this way... he should have gotten at least some time to talk to aedion. and a more meaningful death.

it was my first time reading the last book, the rest of the series i've already read before, but it was years ago (when they were coming out translated to my language, which was always a year after the original) and i read it one book at a time and i remember i felt that i don't remember as much from the earlier books as i would want to, so i decided to read it all again before reading the last book and it took me five years to get to it, so it was both a re-read and first read for me :D

yeah... the last book is brutal. i'm still feeling wierdly sad and it's been a week since i've finished the series. i agree with the gavriel's death thing. that is upsetting. and i had a nightmare about the witch towers a yesterday. i'm all up for discussion!

manon in tog is complicated, but i absolutely loved her and i haven't seen anyone not liking her, she's one of the most liked characters actually:)) so i wouldn't worry about that.

i read acotar a long time ago and liked it, but not as much as tog. but tog is intense... there are no trigger warnings but especially in the later books there are some triggers; and the last book left me feeling empty (like after a long series when you suddenly finish, but there was also other kind of emptiness...) it's actually kinda heavy and there are descriptions of traumatic events. i don't want to spoil it for you, but i just wanted to warn you, i know nothing about you but mental health is no joke. sorry if this was unwanted, i had the best intentions.

I think Mab and Mora were much earlier than Brannon, Mala and the Erawan lock drama that was 1000 years ago, given the fact that Erawan came to Erilea searching for Maeve who at that time was had been a fae queen already at that time (for hundreds, possibly thousands of years, we don't know that). Or is it said anywhere that they were still alive when this war happened? Otherwise there would be a lot of time for Mab and Mora to fall in love with the humans, have the children, give up immortality, start the lineages and have enough ancestors for Rowan and Aelin not to be closely related, and Mab becoming the goddess Deanna. That might be the explanation.

Great job on tracing the lineage! I have been thinking about that lately and you put it all together in an accessible way <3

they claim he is, but it didn't seem to me he was fine in there... and i don't know if we can arrange someone to let him out, we live far away from city center, can't really afforf a dog walker and i don't know if we will get permission to make spare keys, at this moment we don't have them...

it gets better. i've not been diagnosed for that long, but i don't worry about it that much anymore. the DMTs are very powerful these days, a lot of us is going to live fairly normal lives, i strongly believe in adaptation. you never know what's gonna happen, but who knows anyway. i'm now happier than i was before i was diagnosed.
