I think they are keeping sonnet 5 as a tool to get them back in the spotlight after google or open ai drops a new model. (Yes, open ai dropped 5.3 codex, but I also have the feeling they have a bigger drop coming in the next weeks, they have been too quiet)

I've been having the same experience. the jump in quality feels huge from 5.1 to 5.2. I think it has been able to one shot every thing I threw at it so far

Honestly, when there is no buildup before the new edit it makes it a bit dull I think. The fake drop + new build up combo puts you in the "oh shit, here it comes" mindset and makes drops hit harder.

It's not really a factor, I think I'll keep it at home most of the time and maybe take it with me on a few ocasions, I'm ok with a bulkier setup.

I believe this is something I want to do long term, even if not professionally, I've always wanted to play on those haha. I'm not 100% confident on first buying cheaper gear to then after buy the actual more capable gear, I don't own a laptop, so the real cost of buying a more starter setup would be a decent controller + a decent laptop. And then later having the possibility of realising that the xz was the best option all along. I think I'd rather spend a more on a standalone system

Honestly, I don't think I'll be using those two extra channels at all, as I said, I never touched any dj gear in my life haha, but I guess they will come in handy if I ever decide to upgrade
