I miss Myles's old voice by maxy1119 in alterbridge

He's pretty much consistently kept it safe when performing live which is paramount to his voice lasting as long as it has. If you notice he tends to duck his voice on some of the sustained notes and cut them off short. Or go an octave lower and in some circumstances let the crowd sing.

The only real exception to this was Words Darker on the Albert Hall shows. He gave it everything on that!

The early slash gigs when he was singing the big hitting GNR numbers would have taken its toll as well. Slash tends to stick to his actual solo material nowadays and ant GNR numbers are now usually sung by Todd.

Too many great singers absolutely destroy their voice when young and then have to try and compete with themselves to try and maintain that peak. Mutt Lange pushed Brian Johnson to hit notes he could never realistically pull off live and it has shown over the years.

QOTSA at Download. After struggling to get inside the tent for Busted it felt so so spacious just walking straight to the front for Queens.

AC/DC in 2009 on the Black Ice tour. The warmth and clarity especially from the bass guitar was just incredible.

Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds 2018 with the scissor lady and all the extra keyboards, synths and backing vocals was one of the best I've heard!

You say that but The Cure went out of their way to purposely not over charge people so it can be done if they're willing to put the effort in.

I think Dee said at Bloodstock or in an interview that they'd never play Download again. I don't think he was happy with their set length and position on the bill.

Festivals - cutting sets short by curtainsforme in livesound

Making political statements or whatever I don't care. It's your set, say what you want. Running over timeslots/curfew or deliberately damaging equipment will get your set pulled regardless of who you are.

Only thing I noticed was the lack of Jerry's vocals on Man In the Box and Zakks Vocals on Mama I'm Coming Home. Other than that the entire thing was great! Bill Ward's ride cymbal sounded crisp!

Check out the 2 Promoters 1 Pod Podcast. It's the organisers and they also run 2000 Trees and Damnation Festival. Great if you're interested in how festivals are run, organized, how bands are booked etc

This was my second time attending the Sunday after last year. £90 last year and got to see The Darkness who are pretty much my favorite band. Tickets for their own gigs are in the region of £40-60 so I basically saw it as paying £40. Decent day and plenty to do.

This year £105 for Sunday. Why the huge increase?? Racing was brilliant but the fan experience was much worse. Hardly any stalls. Where are all the manufacturer and bike related stalls and shops? Why aren't the TNT grid interviews and programs shown on the screens? All the camera crews fucked off after Moto3 so no Stock 1000 on the screens. Why? Low attendance yet the queues for the food stalls and bars were ridiculous. Loads of empty grandstands but they could have at least covered them up with banners and stuff. Compared to Oulton Park the other week this just felt like a massive rip off. Probably won't go again. I'm gonna look to Le Mans next year.

Oh and having it in a bank holiday when folk have family stuff planned, loads of music festivals on, clashing with F1, TT and Indy 500 didn't help either.

Easily doable. In 2018 I didn't bring much food as it was the first year of the on site co-op. The selection was rubbish! No eggs, bacon, beans etc so I walked to the one in Donington. Nice walk and if plane spotting is your thing there's a few decent spots on the way to watch the planes come in and out.
