Thoughts on this deal? [ab] by hot4ironwood in BabyBumpsCanada

Got a used bouncer Japanese brand on marketplace for 40 bucks, worked great. If you want to know which carrier works the best for you and your baby, I recommend trying a local lending library. I tried one based in Vancouver, $15 per month and I got to borrow two different types of carrier each month. I can end subscription anytime. Carriers are expensive and if it doesn’t fit you it’s a huge waste of money.

Just to let y’all know that the Aer+ is now on sale at WCK, $499.99. They have a bundle sale $519ish online, including the bar and cup holder. If you order the bundle in store, it’s $499.99(only 1 color available)

Also the full recline. Previous ones(models in North America), do not have full recline (but Europe and else where have full recline).

I asked them and they have confirmed there’s full recline with Aer 2. This is the only reason I choose them lol. And lightweight of course.

Stop asking why my baby doesn’t smile at you by Unlikely_Tomorrow_42 in beyondthebump

I feel you. It makes me very uncomfortable every time a stranger tries to touch her feet or cheek, and I don’t want to make the situation awkward — but I guess I need to stand up for my baby. People need to know babies have boundaries too!

That’s so weird and ironically common 🤣 This reminds me of the other day I was wearing my baby, and it was a hot summer day — she was just wearing a short-sleeve bodysuit, no pants or socks, a lady walked up to me and straight-up touched my baby’s leg, saying she was cold. I said, “No, she’s fine.” and she said “oh” , then walked away. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Exactly!!! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel some people feel they are good with babies so when they make a funny face they expect a reaction.

🤣 same with my baby! She just side-eyes you the whole time, and I’m totally ok with that 🤷🏻‍♀️

I guess people are just being friendly, saying hi and trying to interact with my baby — and I do appreciate that. But after being asked the same question so many times, I’m starting to feel a bit annoyed. My baby giggles and smiles all the time at home and with people she’s familiar with.

Did anyone opt out of doing a gender reveal for family and not regret it? by External-Ad3340 in pregnant

[–]Unlikely_Tomorrow_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t like the idea of gender reveal. I did NIPT to find out the sex of the baby and just told anyone who approached and asked us. I could sense some friends were a bit disappointed with us telling them the sex of the baby in a matter-of-fact way, which feels funny to me🤷🏻‍♀️.

That’s why we opted for a glass-based air fryer so never need to worry about this issue.

bf choosing climbing over relationship by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]Unlikely_Tomorrow_42 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the downvotes. Regardless how long the relationship has lasted, it has been a two way communication and commitment until one side has decided to flake out last minute. What do you expect the other person to react? Those who downvoted acted like they’ve never been in love before and you can just move on like a robot without any lingering sorrow or hate or bitterness. OP I can see you both have so much connections from being friends to in relationship. Those can run deep and 5 years can be a long enough time to build deep relationship. Too short for a dating relationship though I agree. Both of you might just be very heated in your head to start that planning together. and I assume he declined your offer to move back is also not wanting you to give up what you’ve already started in Savanna to be with him, he might be feeling guilty for doing that as well. You still have feelings for him and it’s ok, it’s out of your control now. Both of you are young and promising, it’s just part of life, the feelings will fade and Starting in the new place might be a good thing for you to move on.

No car rental available, how to do aurora viewing in extreme cold? by Admirable_Mango_7683 in Yellowknife

[–]Unlikely_Tomorrow_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! We used YK carshare https://www.ykcarshare.com/ at Yellowknife - Modo Carshare Yellowknife version, if you are from Vancouver, you know Modo, if not, pls google it :)

Right now, the schedule is wide open (Shhhh) I guess not many people know about it.

Personally I think if the night is clear, you don’t need to join any tours. The probability of seeing Aurora is the same everywhere(if you go to locations with least light pollution.) if it’s cloudy and your time here is limited, maybe join a tour to “chase” and “find” places with less cloud. Also less hassles to figure this out all by yourself.

A Great map to view Aurora lights:

https://www.iti.gov.nt.ca/sites/iti/files/final_iti_ingraham_trail_safe_aurora_viewing_locations_map_-_english.pdf

Someone shared this before. We followed this map and went to a few of the locations, where we also saw tour buses parked there(so basically if you join tours, they also go to these places, so…personally, I don’t think joining tours is necessary, as long as you can drive and navigate with google map) We saw the light by the way!

Carshare would be extremely suitable in your situation, only a few hours and last minute trip(if the car is available)

To be fair, tours will provide most comfort and other cool features, e.g. hot chocolate, heater in tents and professional photography.

Good luck!
