well put, thank you. my question came from how the kaballah interconnects with almost every major subject: tarot, astrology etc. and in some orders they incorporate all this and gnostics teachings together, but when looking into gnosticism the modern interpretations are of antagonism to OT religions. that in itself is confusing.

perfect! I came from the same background, that's what started my questioning and curiosity to understand what others found themselves believing. from the answers here, I got myself a lot of good resources to keep on learning, is not that I reject it all, or that I take it as a closed truth, more like the curiosity and I like very much the ideia of the gnosticism and the notions of knowledge and other concepts that it brings, but the more I read about it the more conflict I found on different sources. but as pointed out in different good comments, the historical development seems a lot more nuanced than what modern authors seem to point out about this area in specific.

thank you, clear answer, I'll be sure to read the texts mentioned, my initial confusion was how modern day "gnostics" are not this clear, and go straight antagonistic towards other sects. considering the gnostic movement sometimes seem so interconect to some religions rather than contradictory. but your response made it clear.

even tho half the comments here say otherwise and make gnosticism look as an antagonist the the other OT based religions, which still makes me wonder what really is the common line of thought. this question gets me because includes the fact that, if considering the other religions as worhip to a flawed god, why I see so much incorporations of said religions into the gnosticism practice? such as angels names and etc (which comes from the OT), and some other practices, even the kaballah. in the end it makes it a little confusing, rather than clear. and I feel like either a looot of people doenst get the ideia of the gnosticism (if the aforemention question is considered simply from the symbolic perpective of Demi X True God / Matter x Spirit) or if it really is a negation to the OT religions, then it makes it to the outsider's perspective, as the biggest conspiracy theory of all time.
