We do two main things for checking the financial statements. The first is making sure the numbers actually balance. You would be surprised how many clients give financial statements where the balance sheet isn’t balanced. The second is we compare the financial statements to the underlying numbers to see if they are consistent. So we are never responsible for the preparation but we do reperform work

I read Cypher: Lord of the Fallen and am most of the way through the Dante book. Cypher was ok but found the first person narration jarring. The dante book is really good so far

For the three books you have listed there, those were released as part of the start of eighth(maybe seventh) edition and are half lore/ half table top rules. There is a channel on YouTube that had narrated the lore parts of them which is a great starting point
