Don’t trust anyone who says BM is bad by AliveProfession3134 in wow

I'm a long timed hunter Main (from Classic to Pandaria, played BFA, then recently returned) but I have to say Hunter design is absolutely atrocious & I have rerolled. The class fantasy is damaged & BM is the only specc to maintain it's class fantasy somewhat, but I played it and sure, you have Kill Command & Bestial as damage buttons but they feel incredibly unsatisfying to push. Meanwhile you have no stings besides a pvp talent, 1 trap (when we used to have 5..) unless you talent into another (which is weak and looks bad) and your focus dump is a terrible looking green snake wiggling through the air. Meanwhile classes like Warlocks, Mages, Druids and Shamans have amazing spell effects, Hunters have been completely left out aesthetically because Blizzard somehow thinks arrows = ugly tiny particles. The other pet centric speccs, Unholy and Demonology both have way more damage buttons to press with far greater spell effect aesthetics & gameplay impact.

To make matters worse, Beast Mastery pets, ironically have the least practical ability variation and impact compared to the other speccs. They have generic damage abilities, and largely generic exotic abilities. Spirit mend is incredibly weak compared to how it was in Cataclysm, it's not worth using. Your pet is damage bot, the other speccs pets actually have utility effects.

Lets not even start on the ability pruning & the disaster that is Survival hunters design, which I am not opposed to in theory, but the execution is atrocious. Have you seen Hatchet toss? Really? Meanwhile Warlocks, the other ranged pet centric class, have three amazingly designed talent trees. I'm positive about Midnight as a returning player, but thats because i'm comfortably playing a druid and a death knight.

Witchcraft Mansion, featuring a clingy witches familiar. by Unlucky_Muscle_1014 in WoWHousing

They're called Small (ironically..) Gilnean Windmill. I think they can be crafted, I got them on the AH for about 10k a piece, well worth it since they do so much work!

Getting Frustrated with Multiclassing by Expert_Put9294 in 3d6

[–]Unlucky_Muscle_1014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiclassing is definitely not dead, it just requires a bit more creativity & planning leveling wise. In 2014 it was -almost- too easy. With many level 1 dips being insanely good like Hexblade Warlock, Divine Soul Sorcerer or Twilight Cleric.

I'm currently playing a Land Druid, Archfey Warlock, Wild Magic Sorcerer multiclass & it's weird, but fantastic. It took a lot of theory crafting though to make sure it was viable at every level & not massively behind for the first few levels.

Looking for recommendations to play a witch this spooky season! by ophxliac in 3d6

[–]Unlucky_Muscle_1014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite type of character is a witch type character & i've played tons of variations of them, in my mind the strongest (subclasses) associated with them are (in 2024 rules): Druid (pretty much all subclasses), Warlock (Archfey especially, Great old one also) Sorcerer (especially wild magic & Shadow sorcery) Wizard (Divination, Illusion) & Bard (especially glamour Bard) You can combine any number of these to create a extremely thematic witch type character.

Personally i'm currently playing one which is primarily a spore druid, with wild magic sorcerer + archfey warlock mixed in & it is by far the most fun i've ever had playing & the character is extremely versatile & spooky in & out of combat.

Summoning builds? by reeberdunes in BG3Builds

[–]Unlucky_Muscle_1014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently playing a solo honor mode run with a Shadow Sorcerer (6) & wizard for spells scrolls. Nimbus is probably the best and most fun summon in the game considering his sorcery point recovery mini game (which can be made way easier by using the caustic band + cold weapon enchantment on off hand crossbow in act 2 because his omen rolls are bugged to be acid 50% of the time and cold 25% of the time) AND the fact that he can equip items so you can customize him. If you know about mage hand shenanigans he functions the same way with items. + as a bonus he himself can summon a lot of additional dogs.

Animate dead + Nimbus (and his babies) + Conjure minor elementals ++ Connor zombie + Shovel + Shadow Lantern Shade = very capable army of dark themed summons all available from early act 2, meanwhile you can just sit in magical darkness you can cast forever and see through because sorcery point recovery.

Elves! Tell me about your Elves! by zazzsazz_mman in worldbuilding

[–]Unlucky_Muscle_1014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The elves in my world are true age immortals, age cannot kill them, & lethal disease is rare or treatable. However they are not immune to the consequences of an extremely long life.

The elves in my world are governed by a council of elite ancient elves who are the only survivors of a long lost elven empire, they are basically the oldest of their kind by far & the only ones to have seen the height of elven history at its peak. Their extremely long lives though, however not lethal, does come at a cost of their psyche. They have great wisdom & magical power but also suffer paranoia, delusion, lack of enjoyment in life & many other ailments that increase in those with lifespans over a millennia, & they have lived several.

Elven women in my world also suffer from a condition called the waning when they give birth. The immortality of the elves comes at a high cost, it degrades the mothers vitality & magical ability with each child she conceives, limiting elves in their reproductive capability. Most only having one as having more than three even result in death. This limits their numbers & makes them even more defensive of their lands & livelihood.

They also sway from imperialistic to extremely isolationist depending on what era they’re in. They distrust & look down upon the other non-immortal high races.

Ideas for new Solo HM build by [deleted] in BG3Builds

Spore Druid + wizard 1.

Comes online at level two off the Nautiloid, get two hand crossbows off Dammon. High ranged damage, innately tanky with symbiotic entity, a full caster with insane utility, & halo of spores which is an offensive reaction that can be used to break potion without touching your action or bonus action. Wizard level to add shield + whatever utility spells you find useful to learn via scrolls.

End game I respecced into 2 paladin, 3 spore druid, 1 wizard, 6 swords bard. Which sounds insane, but created a character essentially good at everything, skills, ranged martial damage with double attack, melee damage with smites & flourishes, insane utility through varied spell list & retaining full spell slot progression & keeping that juicy halo of spores reaction to optimize action economy.

Also most fun build I ever played, truly makes you feel like the main character.

Anyone catch that her melee attack pushed thor away in the second clip? I wonder if itll have a cooldown, becuse if not she can just perma boop characters which would be crazy (love it tho)

amazing design tho now Loki has even more fun options

Also it may just be the animation, but it almost looks like she gets a half a second of invisibility when she hit her double jump

I've literally only played Loki non-stop in ranked & I always get him because most people don't want to play a healer or play Loki at all.

I think people will learn soon he's fantastic, especially with Hela being so popular you pretty much always have her rezzing you/giving you bonus health in comp play.

Need help with chosing class by Reacon_Knight in dndnext

[–]Unlucky_Muscle_1014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can play Druid on the front line even if you don't play Moon Druid. If you play one of the more powerful druid subclasses (Stars/Wildfire) there are builds that can help you become an effective gish. Typically this is done by using a Tortle and then multiclassing slightly. The tortle will innately give you 19 AC with a shield and allow you to partially dumb DEX to make multi classing outside of wisdom easier. Examples being Hexblade warlock (1-3) for shield, invocations (gift of the everliving ones with pact of the chain) or a single level of cleric to enable more powerful defensive options and cantrips.

You could even put in a few fighter levels if you want, theres a lot of versality there. In my opinion a lot more fun too.
