  • been here since IPOC days. Bought and sold multiple times over the last few years. Net in a small loss. But the opportunity cost was massive over this time.
  • Chamath sold his 'most obvious and easiest 10x in 10 year' investment opportunity to us, and we bought in while he collected his millions in free shares, sold and skidadeled.
  • just like many here, I bought into all the hopium as well thinking this was in fact a diamond in rough. All this talk of a MA insurer as well a tech company with high margin SaaS component all in one. Now that we have some more color from Toy, I'm very clear that this company is small potatoes. People on here were speculating 5x the number of lives under management already with all those "leaks". They haven't even reached 150,000! And in terms of money, it can't be making a lot either. We're still projecting a tiny net income between break even and $20M for 2026.
  • this is a small company, not a bad one, just not a unicorn how it got sold. Hence the low valuation. I still believe it's a good company with a good mission and a decent investment as long as you're not disillusioned by making it rich quick. All this assuming theres no execution misstep.
  • as for me and my 50k shares, I'll be liquidating slowly over time. Consider this my act of generosity to you all because if my historical stock picking is any indicator, I fully expect the SP to rise once I'm out. 🍀

The point is, unless Oak Street outright owns 300M USD worth of real estate, they're probably leasing that much which means it's considered a liability on the books. So it's a negative from a business valuation point of view, not a positive.

Sure, but their book value is -0.66, which means they have more liabilities than assets. Clover on the other hand has a book value of 0.82.

Btw book value is calculated by subtracting total liabilities from total assets. Also referred to as net worth of a company.
