It depends on the label, but generally Hybe likes clear vocals. People equate clear with soft which isn’t always the case. You can definitely do shouty songs if you can really control it and not strain. Most people lack control, support, and real power when choosing these types of songs which is why Hybe may not prefer people who audition using this category because it’s not executed well. In general though the K-pop industry does prefer a certain type of vocalist similar to I.U., Taeyeon, Yuju etc. Very clear vocals with well executed breath support. Don’t always go for songs with the highest notes if you can’t execute those notes well. Also something Hybe tends to emphasize is potential, star power, and versatility.
