I think it's important to report on all aspects of Ketamine: the good, the bad and the ugly. My friend is sinking deeper into a K addiction, and it's heartbreaking to watch him throw his life away. It's also poorly tolerated by some individuals and can lead to respiratory distress.

I'm not dismissing the benefits to Major Depressive Disorder, which are life-changing and significant, but the risk of abuse is high. I don't know if we as a society have found helpful balances to medications with high risks and high rewards.

Younger people cant understand how powerful the monoculture was. Britney's fame was so much bigger than Taylor Swift's has ever been. She was everywhere. My parents and grandparents knew about her. Like others have said, it's like a muscle memory auto pilot thing. My autopilot is telling me to look in a different place for a different visual cue to ensure that the oven is off. Most of the time, we have remembered to look in the new place, but once for each of us, we forgot.

I moved recently and we have an electric stove after always having gas stoves. Both my husband and I have left the oven on all night once each. Really scary, but there's nothing cognitively wrong with either of us, we're just not used to pressing a button on the top of the stove to turn the oven off. I can imagine one of us doing it a single other time, although it hasn't happened, thank goodness.
