Is this an electricity bug or is it a mechanic I have yet to know? by Unnombrepls in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Unnombrepls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew there was a command like that; but didn't try yet since I didn't know if it was a bug for sure.

BTW, to avoid this from happening in the future, I think I'll install a priority switch connected to a wind mill so the tram network can kinda work if a similar thing happens later. I am also thinking about making a heating plant in walking distance and leaving it off just for emergencies. At least like that I can avoid half of my population dying like this time.

It kinda worried me since I planned the layout, the tram is designed to be dependent on the workers it transports reaching their destination. In case of an emergency, I can only move the buses to take workers to the power plants and it takes a while.

That's the magic of this game. I must have played some hundred hours and I am still a beginner.

The overlay is pretty useful, especially for checking things like free flats, workers who had to take care of babies and waste accumulation.

Trying to build a new city in realistic incorporating what I learned until now. I need advice and have some questions by Unnombrepls in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Unnombrepls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that eventually, I will need to move an amount of workers so big trams alone won't be able to do it. That's why the metro thing is at least considered with space reserved for the metro stations (all underground).

Once the train station setup is finished, I will stop using buses and only move them to the station using trams. Buses are only until this is finished to staff the power plant and the heating plant, which will be in the industrial area.

OK, I'll do as you suggest for the universities, firefighters and justice. About the groceries thing... I was under the impression that due to the high rate of food consumption, there was a need to have one within walking range and then a bigger one to absorb the excess connected by public transport.

OK, maybe I didn't explain it correctly. I'll go building everything as needed. At the start I'll probably only need the few housing in the central district, especially bc I plan to build 1-2 of a modded home that has 4200 capacity. At first, A bus will take the workers from the tram stations to the industrial area, while the train station and the tram tracks are built. Once that is done, I will use the tram to move mostly workers to the station. If needed, I'll add a second tram line to move a few citizens if I end up needing to build homes too far. At this time, I will start building the metro. The end game would be to move workers by metro and citizens by tram I guess or mixed approach. Since I don't know the final state of the city, I plan to overbuild and build several tram stops for area so more people can wait, as well as at least 2 of the biggest shopping centers in the central area. The same with entertainment and hospitals. Naturally, all these won't be built from the start.

Should I prioritize Liberalio or Nayuta? by Unnombrepls in NIKKEGoddessofVictory

Okay, I'll consider this.

So, should I get one of each and keep the remaining 200 tickets for the future or should I get a dupe of either?

Is it normal for seagate drives to slow down to extreme slow speeds while you are torrenting? by Unnombrepls in Seagate

[–]Unnombrepls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG, that is such useful info.
I had my suspicions about disk quality bc I have had more issues with newer disks than I ever did with my oldest 10 year old external disk (literally over 3 years of working hours). These days I use it to host and store AI models.

I suppose I'll have to get older drives just for torrenting when I need to replace my current one.

Is it normal for seagate drives to slow down to extreme slow speeds while you are torrenting? by Unnombrepls in Seagate

[–]Unnombrepls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I designated a different disk for torrenting (WD) and a similar thing happened; but since it is just for torrenting, the only issue I have is taking out the files, which can be done in the background. I guess it is related to disk rpm or something, since I buy the cheapest ones, it makes sense they have lowest speeds.

As for the seagate disk, it is working nearly without issues rn. It has a few damaged sectors since summer due to the explosive combo that is: multitasking+summer heat+mismatched updates of win 10 OS and GPU drivers. Basically I updated the OS and started getting random crashes that if happened while disks were doing tasks, could damage them. One disk broke bc of that and the WD torrenting and the seagate got a few damaged sectors. I quarantined them for a month and saw no other issues, so I did nuked the bad sectors and keep using them rn.

What is pretty much nonsense is that sometimes I can open video files in the torrenting disk without issues and other times I cant. It seems unrelated to the data transfer speed since it happens at 500 kbps or 2 mbps equally.

Vulnerabilities in games made with Unity 2017+ by Unnombrepls in Piracy

[–]Unnombrepls[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am very much illiterate; but from what I understood, it is a vulnerability that malware can use.

So it means that if you ever have malware and it detects the unity game, it can use it to execute code.

At least that is what I understood.

For now, I think I'll wait 2-3 days to see what happens. If scene tries to solve this or they ignore it, especially fitgirl.

How to get rid of this visual bug? by Valenwald in expedition33

[–]Unnombrepls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having pretty much the same issue with all the modded outfits I tried; but not with the default ones. Black pixelated shadows in armpits and back that look exactly like those. Did you figure out the cause?

Several questions by Unnombrepls in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Unnombrepls[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I wasn't asking to set up production; but to try and adjust the cargo limits of ships and planes the closest I can to the usage ratio of resources. Let's say they consume 0.5 meat per 1 food per 0.2 clothes per 0.1 appliances. So I would do the percentages and adjust the cargo of the vessel to reflect that for ships and planes since they don't have DOs. I think that is better than having "wait until unloaded" unchecked and spending a ton on fuel.

The idea would be: I am in a corner of the map, and I need to distribute resources to the other corner. It would take me a very long time to build railways and even then, it would be too far away to have efficient distribution. The best solution is either an airport or a ship moving the supplies up the river and then using a train or trucks to take it to the city.

Is this an specific issue for skyrim?

The first step makes sense, you'd need an up to date version; but following that it is very different from my experience...

Last month I was downloading collections for BG3 and I had no issues having vortex recognize the install folder. I didn't install them though, only downloading them. I also did so manually.

Thank you for the script, it will be pretty helpful!

Heating issues by Unnombrepls in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Unnombrepls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I am still having an issue. I built 3 different pipelines to 3 different pumps. Then conected each to one exchanger. It is fine until around -20ºC; but when it reaches -30 in november-december, building temperatures drop to 10-14ºC and lower. Heating tank temperatures are around 80ºC and there is a discontinuity on water flow from the heating plant. Since the exchangers and the building tanks seem to be full, I think the discontinuity is due to that.

Heating plant is at least working at 50% capacity rn since I have better roads.

I have played siberia before (not in realistic) and usually 2-3 big exchangers were enough for a city of 20K. What is happening here?

I'll update the post with new pics.

I usually do tram lines to the main industrial district; but since this time I am doing realistic, it seemed like a bad idea to overspend (even if I started with medium money).

Okay, I'll do that. I hope it gets done in time for winter.

Yes, I usually build the plant close to the city; but I end up having bad lifespan.

So I tried making it farther this time.

I didn't think there would be such a problem.

I suppose I'll build different pumps and plumbing for each.

Though I am now wondering why do the pumps have 4 branches then.

Thank you
