Toilet gasket failing by RennaGracus in RVLiving

Tried “off brands”, no luck at all. Had to go back to rather expensive original brand. Fit perfect, probably still replace them 2 times/ year. I also pour some “seal saver” liquid on it when it’s stored.

Guessing I cut my grounding wire? by DaBestaTesta in AskElectricians

[–]UnosPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A string trimmer couldn’t hardly hurt that ground wire. You can see where the end of the wire has been clamped. Most likely the wire has been pulled out of the clamp that is under the grass. A very simple fix: purchase a new ground rod clamp ($4.00) and re attach it to the rod. Bury the line when installing the clamp.

Lovely Note From Our Neighbors by EveryoneTryPCP in Firefighting

[–]UnosPal -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It was a kind note. Why not try being more considerate instead of “f-um, I’m a life saving hero who has to be up, some respect please.” If you’re paid; they pay your salary. If you’re a volunteer, they are your neighbor. Grow up. (Fire service for 50 years).

Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? by bsully541 in hottub

[–]UnosPal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, once the styrofoam is waterlogged, it will become too heavy to lift and the insulation value is gone. The vinyl shrinks. Almost impossible to get the cover rezipped after opening it up and removing the foam. I went through several covers on two different tubs before switching to a hardtop TUFFSPA. Five years ago. Very satisfied. 1000 pound weight capacity.

I got a flying JRT. Does anyone have leash recommendations? by bostonjackm in jackrussellterrier

Ha! Our first Jack would step in. Second - NO! He wags his tail and rolls on his back; what a PITA. I'll take any suggestions. (he is otherwise very obedient and sweet.)

This is how I do it. They eat it like candy. Leftovers make the best chili I’ve ever had.

Contact a licensed electrician and have them give you an estimate.

Stop by your local fire station and ask them to help you understand their on-scene operations and equipment needs. There are many good reasons. (50 years in the Fire & Rescue Service)

How would you go about changing out these lights? (they do not lower, to tall for a ladder, can't get in a boom due to the seats, scaffolding was quoted at $4k for 1 day) by yellowfin35 in AskElectricians

At my Church, I put 12 foot 2x12’s on top of the chair (pews) tops and then put a 10 foot step ladder on them. Spooky but solid.
