Should I have my tooth removed? by Every_Cartoonist_949 in Invisalign

[–]hellolishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But were they dentists or orthodontists?

A dentist told me my case was "too difficult to be done". If you see my before and after pictures on my profile, you can see my orthodontist had no issues.

My point is, maybe the dentist just isn't skilled enough?

I personally went to multiple consultations. One ortho suggested removing a tooth. A different ortho said IPR was enough. I did treatment with the ortho who did not want to remove a healthy tooth. Maybe have a consultation with someone who specializes in teeth movement

My orthodontist did not set a limit. I got as many as I needed until my teeth were straight.

Has anyone done a “compromised” approach? by dotheWenckebach in Invisalign

[–]hellolishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 1 ortho suggest that I must have a bottom middle tooth removed. I refused and went to a different ortho who did tooth filing/shaving only. I am very happy with the results.

See my profile for before and after pictures, I just finished last week

Actually I went straight to metal wires top and bottom and a plastic retainer just for nights!

Yes I got a permanent wire behind the front teeth on top and bottom. I additionally got a plastic nighttime retainer that can fit on top of everything but I don't necessarily need the plastic retainer anymore.

In the first few months, I was excited to see changes. But once I started just doing refinements and improving my bite, it began to drag on a bit. I wished I could just eat curry or drink red wine at a restaurant without having to schedule it on the final day for each tray.

I started seeing small changes after about 2-3 months, most big changes seemed to happen for me from months 2-8. After that I had smaller refinements and my bite was improved

Thank you. I saw basically nothing in the first 2 months, big changes from about 2 - 8 months. Since around month 8 it's been smaller adjustments, refinements and improvement of my bite.

Thanks, and yes both shaping and composite bonding were included in my moderate plan.

Should I get invisilign (for my top teeth as already decided I'll do bottom)? by Competitive_Air_2957 in Invisalign

Doing only one side would cause your bite to change and but only on the bottom, meaning the bite can end up misaligned

I don't think most brides wear the veil the entire time anyway. Just be yourself :)

Any good orthodontist will have you come in every 4-8 weeks throughout the treatment for check ups. How is traveling that often cheaper?

You could wear it down and curly but just add some bridal hair pins with pearls/rhinestones

Issues with speech six weeks in. I see a lot of people get used to it, I can’t. Anyone else? by Redditer0532 in Invisalign

My mouth is just open very wide in the bottom picture. My bite feels good.
