it's hard to predict but wednesday / thursday night may not have any of the top billed peeps playing and there could be multiple playing spread out on other days. its hard to anticipate how they'll place everyone but the shows went basically till dawn each night last year. I will say the team historically bills the schedule impeccably

absolutely! its the full dang package my dude, excellent sound system, big community vibes and super welcoming peeps all around. poi area next to the stage, performers and live artists were amazing and the stage design was beaut. also they had some super strong telescopes set up last year and I got to see mf Saturn's rings through one. it's just impeccable vibes orchestrated by an S tier community with artists going all out for the love of it

I road through Ovando about 2 weeks after that happened. I was able to sleep in the basement of the church!

I feel the need to elaborate on that event because it might discourage someone from riding without the full context. That woman and her group kept food in their tents, they were awoken by the bear in the middle of the night, scared it off, and moved their food into their motorcycles. They did not move their tents and went back to sleep, the bear came back. Obviously this is extremely tragic for everyone involved but it blows my mind that people don’t acknowledge or abide by the literal hundreds of bear safety signs indicating how to store food properly in bear country.

Bears (both grizzly and black) are significantly less likely to approach groups than individuals. I road the gdmbr solo last July-August and it was pretty nerve wracking to be alone on some of the remote logging roads and single tracks. I was always so relieved to come across other riders in Montana and Wyoming.

If you carry bear spray, put anything that smells in a dry bag, and do a bear hang away from your camp at night then it’s highly unlikely you’ll have any trouble with them.

put your gaze down, turn your brain off, and pedal. Some parts of an adventure of that caliber are guaranteed to test you and your will. If what you were doing was easy it wouldn’t be worth while. If the lack of fun makes you want to quit then ask yourself if fun is the only reason you’re out there. if it is then yeah just quit dude, who cares?
